Check-In Procedures

Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton

When checking onboard Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton enter through Naval Avenue Gate, located off Naval Avenue in Bremerton, Wash. The Naval Gate is open seven days a week, 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. If you are checking on-board after these hours, please enter through the Charleston gate, located off Navy Yard Highway 304. Have proper identification ready when entering the gate for verification purposes. If you do not have a Department of Defense vehicle decal, security police may direct you to Pass and ID (Building 981), located next to the Missouri (commercial) Gate, off Navy Yard Highway 304 or issue you a temporary pass if after hours. After entering through the gate, report to the Naval Base Kitsap Command and Administration Building 443. Temporary parking is available in the back of the building. During normal working hours (weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), check-in with the administrative office (627-4008) located on the south end of the main floor. After normal hours, check in with the Naval Base Kitsap quarterdeck (627-4024), located on the north side of the main floor. The watch stander will either check you in or call your command’s duty officer for instructions.

Military personnel reporting to ships located in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton should report to the Pass and ID Office in Building 981 during normal working hours or to the Naval Base Kitsap quarterdeck in Building 443 after hours and on weekends. The Pass and ID staff will verify assignments, issue a temporary Standard Access Control Badge (SACB) and will provide directions to the ship. Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is a restricted controlled industrial area and all access is restricted.

Active-duty personnel reporting to afloat commands home ported at Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton but are currently not in port, should report to the Transient Personnel Unit located at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. The Transient Personnel Unit is located in Building 2019 on Barb Street. Please contact 396-1893 for more information.

Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor

Active Duty personnel checking into submarines located at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor should report to the Naval Submarine Support Center (NSSC) located at Building 2100 on Thresher Avenue. For further information please call 396-6505.

Marine Corps Security Force (MCSF) should report to Building 2102 located on Drum Street or call the duty office at 396-4314 for further instruction.

Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport

Active duty personnel checking into Keyport should report to Building 6 (Dive Locker), located along the shore line next to the pier on Dedrick Drive during normal working hours. For after hours please contact the Keyport CDO at 535-3384.

Naval Hospital Bremerton

Military personnel who arrive to the area and are under orders to Naval Hospital Bremerton should call 475-4232 during normal working hours and 475-4384 after working hours to get in contact with someone who will assist with the check-in process.

Naval Magazine, Indian Island

Military personnel who arrive to the area and are under orders to Naval Magazine Indian Island should call 340-1984 to be assisted with further check-in process.

Family Housing

All military personnel reporting to Naval Base Kitsap are required to check in at the Housing Service Center located on NBK Bangor, Building 2720, Ohio Street. Information on Community Housing, Public/Private Venture (PPV) and Military Family Housing (MFH) as well as sales listings are available. Naval Base Kitsap offers Five-Star accommodations to permanent and visiting personnel, including personnel whose ships are undergoing overhaul. A wide variety of services are offered to our visitors and single military personnel, such as mini gyms, conference rooms, entertainment rooms, free washers and dryers, full service kitchens and much more. Unaccompanied Housing and Navy Gateway Inns and Suites are within walking distance to the Commissary, Navy Exchange, clubs and recreational facilities.
