There are many Eureka, California schools available for all ages. From a variety of public options and even higher education, here are the Eureka City schools California has to offer.

Eureka California Schools for Families

There are 12 total educational facilities under the Eureka City Unified School District. These range from pre-k and end up going through high school into adult education. Here are the Eureka California Schools available for families:

Alice Birney Elementary

Alice Birney Elementary School in Eureka, California offers a diverse approach to education. Featuring a student-teacher ratio of 23 to 1, children are empowered by a staff that cares for their kids and provides ample resources for their educational experience.

Eureka High School

Eureka High School has been designated as a California Gold Ribbon School, among several other awards, and is noted for its academic excellence as well as athletics. Since 1896, EHS has been providing the North Coast with quality education representing grades 9th through 12th.

There are collegiate paths to help accelerate education through seven periods instead of six per day. Additionally, there are AP classes available to challenge students.

Grant Elementary School

Grant Elementary School offers grades transitional kindergarten (TK) through 5th for the community featuring a high set of educational standards through a diverse offering of cultures. There is a 21 to 1 student-teacher ratio on par with the rest of the district.

Lafayette Elementary School

Lafayette Elementary School helps kids in the community not only academically but by developing life skills that transcend the classroom. Known for its Culture of Kindness, respect and empathy are founding principles students cultivate as they grow.

Washington Elementary School

At Washington Elementary School, kids are exposed to the history of Native Americans that is ingrained in the history of the region. The school also provides Eureka children with after-school programs and a noted focus on musical education.

Winship Middle School

Students enrolled in 6th through 8th grade can enroll in Winship Middle School and receive the level of commitment families have come to expect in Eureka, CA. This includes the Indian Education Program and after-school programs.

Winzler Children's Center

The Winzler Children’s Center provides TK and kindergarten classes aiming to develop children before grade school. At the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited facility, children also have access to special education services and a speech-language pathologist to ensure they can develop educationally at an appropriate level moving forward.

Zane Middle School

Zoe Barnum High School

Zoe Barnum High School puts innovation at the heart of its educational approach. You’ll find a variety of events and collaborative educational pursuits available. This includes programs with the following:

College of the Redwoods

College of the Redwoods is a public community college that can be found just south of Eureka, CA, for its main campus and additional sites elsewhere. The school is within the California Community Colleges System and features a student-faculty ratio of 16 to 1 while focusing on providing a path toward an associate degree with more than 50 programs available.

Cal Poly Humboldt

Cal Poly Humboldt is found on the lands of the Wiyot people, caught between the majestic redwoods and the Pacific Ocean. Respecting the history of the area is a huge part of California’s third polytechnic university, as various programs and collaborations with the Wiyot people are at the forefront of the university’s education.

Out of all of the colleges near Eureka, California, Cal Poly Humboldt transformed from Humboldt State University into the education center it is today by focusing on STEM-focused programs through a major investment. Hundreds of millions of dollars are pouring in to bring in a total of 27 new programs expanding the area’s education unlike anywhere else.
