Morale, Welfare & Recreation

Updated On: 11/5/2012 9:15:08 PM

The Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation program administers a variety of recreation, social and community support activities on U.S. Navy facilities worldwide. Our mission is to provide quality of life through entertainment, recreation, dining facilities and fitness. We offer a number of recreational services and things to do which are available to active duty, eligible dependents, retired military and civilian employees.

Some MWR activities — such as physical fitness centers and sports programs, indoor swimming pools, bowling lanes, and child development centers — are available at both NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex. Other activities — such as Atlantic Ocean swimming beaches, and seaside cottages, are only available at Dam Neck.
