Sand Mountain Recreation Area

The 3.5-mile-long, 1-mile wide, 600-foot- high Sand Mountain is the largest single dune in the Great Basin. This dune and the surrounding 4,795-acre recreation area provide thrilling challenges for off-highway vehicles like sand rails, dune buggies and all-terrain vehicles. The area also offers sand sailing and boarding, camping and a 23-mile trail system.
