California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services
California faces risks of earthquakes, floods, mudslides, significant wildfires, prolonged droughts, public health emergencies, cybersecurity attacks, agricultural and animal disasters as well threats to homeland security. Cal OES takes a proactive approach to addressing these risks, threats and vulnerabilities through planning and comprehensive exercises to maintain readiness and mitigate harm to communities, people, the environment and the economy.
Office of Emergency Services
Ventura County’s Office of Emergency Services is responsible for countywide disaster planning, mitigation, response and recovery activities. OES personnel work with all county departments, 10 cities, public and private organizations and community and civic groups. In the event of a disaster, the Office of Emergency Services is responsible for the county’s Emergency Operations Center, coordination of the county’s emergency management team and recovering the county’s disaster response costs from state and federal governments.
