  1. From N Nevada Ave exit E Platte Ave towards Suffolk St
  2. Take E Platte Ave to exit right on Peterson Ave
  3. Continue straight to Peterson North Gate
From Denver
  1. Take I-25 South
  2. Take exit 153 INTERQUEST Pkwy
  3. Turn Right on CO-21 South
  4. Take exit 141 for E Platte Ave and turn left
  5. Exit right onto Peterson Ave and head straight towards Peterson North Gate
From Colorado Springs Airport
  1. Take CO-21 N
  2. Turn right onto Airport Rd
  3. Take Airport Rd through Peterson SFB West Gate
From Union Station Denver
  1. Head northwest on 16th St Mall toward Wewatta St
  2. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Wewatta St.
  3. Turn left onto Speer Blvd.
  4. Turn right onto Auraria Pkwy.
  5. Use the left lane to keep left at the fork and merge onto I-25 S
  6. Take exit 153 INTERQUEST Pkwy.
  7. Turn Right on CO-21 South
  8. Take exit 141 for E Platte Ave and turn left
  9. Exit right onto Peterson Ave and head straight towards Peterson North Gate

Unfortunately, there are no Amtrak lines that service Colorado Springs. But there are Greyhound Bus stations connected to the Amtrak schedules, and you can get more information on them here on the Amtrak site.

Entering Peterson Space Force Base and Base Amenities

All drivers on base must have a valid military ID, veterans or retiree ID, a valid driver’s license, and a valid driver’s insurance card. For visitor's passes, head to the Visitor’s Center and sign in.

Check-in Procedures for Incoming Personnel

Regular duty hours at Peterson SFB are from 0730-1530. All active-duty military personnel must use the arrival point in the unit Commander Support Staff. If your unit does not have a CSS report to the 21st Military Personnel Section in building 350 during regular duty hours. Outside of normal duty hours, report to the Peterson Temporary Lodging Facility in building 1425.

Peterson SFB has 3 three gates for three points of access. The West gate is considered the Main Gate into Peterson SFB.

Colorado Springs

Peterson SFB itself sits right in the city of Colorado Springs. Sitting at the base of the Rockies, Colorado Springs is an excellent choice to live, and you’ll be conveniently close to base. There’s a wide range of homes offered here, and with a multitude of outdoor activities, you’ll be sure to find a perfect home here. Colorado Springs has a population of around 456,000, the second most populated city in Colorado.

Fountain

About 8 miles from Peterson SFB is Fountain, Colorado. Here you’ll be nestled near Fountain Creek right against the Rocky Mountains. The city boasts that it is a touch of the charm of country living while having the amenities of urban life.

Stratmoor

Also, only about 8 miles from Peterson Space Force Base is Stratmoor Colorado. There are houses in Stratmoor in the median range and offer a quick commute to base. Peterson SFB Weather

In a community so near the Rocky Mountains, you are bound to get a little snowfall. But, don’t worry too much the winters in Colorado Springs are relatively mild. The lowest temperatures come in the month of January, and cold snaps are never out of the question from October to March and even into April. Unfortunately, Blizzards aren’t entirely unheard of, but the accumulation of snow downtown is relatively rare. Be prepared for all kinds of weather, from warm summers to snow in the winter.
