Active-duty members assigned to Oahu shore units and floating units without Health Service technicians will obtain medical services at the Branch Medical Clinic, Makalapa, just inside the Makalapa Gate at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Dependents of active-duty members have several health care options:
- Enroll in TRICARE and select a primary care manager. Military treatment facility choices for family members include Tripler Army Medical Center, Makalapa Clinic at Pearl Harbor and Marine Corp Base Kaneohe Bay.
- In most cases, families living in government housing choose Makalapa Naval Medical Clinic or Tripler Army Medical Center as their PCM. However, there may be exceptions such as special needs or geographical location for those not living in government housing.
