Welcome to Naval Air Station Pensacola, known as the "Cradle of Naval Aviation." NAS Pensacola serves as the launching point for the flight training of every naval aviator, naval flight officer, and enlisted aircrewman. NAS Pensacola employs more than 16,000 military and 7,400 civilian personnel. The base encompasses more than 8,400 acres of land: about 5,800 acres at NAS Pensacola proper and another 2,500 acres at other locations, including Corry Station, Saufley Field, and Outlying Landing Field Bronson.
