The Religious Support Office provides a variety of dynamic and inspirational worship services, programs and activities for the Fort Jackson community. Worship services and counseling support are available at all of Fort Jackson’s installation chapels. All Fort Jackson chaplains are dedicated to providing for the free exercise of religion and the practice of religious beliefs, traditions and customs to enhance the spiritual quality of life of the Fort Jackson community.
MAIN POST CHAPEL
Opened in early 1986, the main post chapel is designed to serve the installation’s permanent party population. The main post chapel is conveniently located at the corner of Strom Thurmond Boulevard and Scales Avenue adjacent to the Scales Avenue Child Development Center. The chapel provides family services for Protestant and Catholic congregations.
Protestant programs include: Protestant worship service, 8 and 11 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:30 a.m.; chapel youth group; Protestant Women of the Chapel; and Bible studies.
Catholic programs include: weekday Mass and first Friday of the month, 11:30 a.m.; Sunday Mass, 9:30 a.m.; and CCD (September to May).
In addition, Islamic services for trainees (Islamic studies at 8 a.m., Sunday and jumah service at 12:45 p.m. Friday) are held at the main post chapel. For more information, call 803-751-6681.
DANIEL CIRCLE CHAPEL
Located on Jackson Boulevard across from Darby Field, Daniel Circle Chapel also serves the permanent party, retirees, DOD civilians, and AIT and IET Soldiers. This large and vibrant Collective Protestant Gospel congregation has a complete program consisting of children’s, men’s, women’s and single adults’ ministries. Worship service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Anderson Chapel is at 2335 Jackson Blvd. and Anderson Street. Trainee services include the Jewish service at 9:15 a.m., the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) service held 10:30 to noon Sunday, LDS Family Social 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and a LDS Scripture Study 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A troop chapel, at 9476 Kemper St., is the location of the 193rd Infantry Brigade Unit Ministry Team. Worship services include an Anglican and Liturgical service at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Communion is observed every Sunday). Additionally, ChapelNext, a contemporary Protestant service, meets at 11 a.m. Sunday (children’s church is also provided).
A troop chapel, located at 4360 Magruder Ave., is the location of the 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment Unit Ministry Team. The Hispanic Protestant service for trainees begins at 9 a.m. Sunday. The Church of Christ service begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Pagan Sacred Well service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday. All services are trainee-focused.
CHAPLAIN’S FAMILY LIFE AND RESILIENCY CENTER
The Chaplain’s Family Life Center’s mission is to improve quality of life by helping people solve personal, marital and relational problems in a confidential setting. It is a safe place that provides preventive education, enrichment programs and pastoral care for the Fort Jackson community. For more information or to make an appointment, call 803-751-4961/4966. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Chaplain’s Family Life Center is at 5460 Marion Ave. (parking is on the south side of the Strom Thurmond Building).
Personnel assigned to Task Force Marshall Chapel attend at McCrady Chapel, 5411 Leesburg Road, Eastover, SC 29044. A Protestant worship service is conducted at 9 a.m. on Sundays.
RELIGIOUS SERVICES FOR BASIC COMBAT TRAINING SOLDIERS
Basic Combat Training Unit chaplains typically hold Protestant services each Sunday morning in their battalion areas. Check with your unit chaplain or chaplain assistant for exact times and location.
