Finding the best place to live in Orange County that is both affordable and commuter friendly can be a challenge. Commute times can vary depending on how far north you find your place to call home. The balance of price, home size and distance vary from town to town. On both shores of the Hudson River, there is an abundance of towns, villages and hamlets that offer a commuter-friendly location that makes the trip worthwhile. Many of the county’s residents live in the suburbs and enjoy a reasonable commute to New York City. The option to take the train, bus or drive has become a preferred way of life. Live in the suburbs with all the privacy you want to enjoy, while being close enough to NYC. The county is a one-seat ride on Metro-North to Grand Central Station in NYC from many of its train stations.

For those flying, there are two major airports within less than 40 miles, with numerous air carriers.
