TRICARE Prime members, with NBHC Port Hueneme as their PCM, can make an appointment by calling the appointment desk Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (805) 982-6320. Active duty stationed at Point Mugu requesting medical appointments can call BMC Point Mugu Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (805) 989-8816/8815.

Active duty and TRICARE Prime members enrolled with NBHC Port Hueneme or BMC Point Mugu as their primary care manager who require urgent medical care that cannot wait until routine clinic hours should call the after-hour watch at (805) 989-8815 for referral authorization and medical consultation with the medical officer of the day (MOOD). For emergencies on or off base, please call 911 immediately. A referral authorization for urgent care after hours must be obtained via the MOOD prior to the visit to avoid out of pocket expense. No prior authorization is needed for a true emergency visit.

Occupational Health/Preventive Medicine
The Occupational Health Clinic, located at NBHC Port Hueneme, provides evaluation and treatment for all occupational injuries or illnesses for civil service employees and conducts medical surveillance programs for employees exposed to hazards in the work place. Employees with acute injuries are seen on a walk-in basis. Supervisors are asked to fill out a Dispensary Permit for injured employees to bring with them to the clinic. If an employee suffers a very serious injury or illness at work, please call 911 immediately and do not attempt to transport to the clinic.

The Preventive Medicine staff at NBHC Port Hueneme sees active duty, family members and employees for a variety of services concerning communicable disease tracking and prevention and can be reached at (805) 982-6358.

Aviation Medicine/Physical Exams
All flight and ground physicals are scheduled with the Aviation Medicine Division at BMC Point Mugu by calling (805) 989-7213. Active duty stationed at Point Mugu may also call (805) 989-7213 for all other physicals, including reenlistment, separation and retirement.

Active duty members stationed at Port Hueneme are to call the NBHC appointment desk at (805) 982-6366 for physical exam appointments.

Refills can be called in to (866) 286-8249 with the option to pick-up refill medication(s) at either NBHC Port Hueneme. Only the service member can pick up medication at BMC Point Mugu. If refill prescriptions are not picked up in 10 days, they will be returned to the shelf stock and must be requested again. As manning permits, pharmacy window number 5 will be used for refill pick up only.

Patients have 14 days to pick up prescriptions written by a NBHC Primary Care Clinic (PCC) provider. Prescriptions written by civilian health care providers can be filled only at NBHC Port Hueneme, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call NBHC Pharmacy at (805) 982-6450 and at Point Mugu (805) 989-3922.
