Housing The Navy Aloha Center (Navy Family Housing Office) is located at 4825 Bougainville Drive (Building 2652) near the Airport. Civilian Housing
The Navy Aloha Center staff can provide listings of available rentals on the island, as well as information on BAH rates, schools and security deposit waiver (utilities). The Housing Services Office (HSO), formerly known as the Community Homefinding, Relocation and Referral Services (CHRRS) office, provides a wide range of services. These include in-depth briefings on renting in the community, scheduling appointments to view rentals, transportation to view prospective rentals, lease review, complaint mediation, discrimination complaint processing, inspecting rentals for adequacy, rental listings, BAH rates, school information, in-depth maps of Oahu, security deposit waiver information (utilities) and information on the Housing Relocation Assistance Program (HRAP). They maintain current computerized listings of rental housing available on the island.

The HSO is located in Building 1004, 111 7th Street, Fort Shafter, HI 96858. Assistance is provided Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except the first and third Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the HSO Fort Shafter office at: (808) 438-6198/3820/0149; Fax: (808) 438-1522; e-mail: pam.hirota@us.army.mil.

The HSO website is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is free and totally self-service, both by those searching for properties and those listing properties. Those seeking rental properties can view photos, maps and detailed descriptions of property listings. Information included on the website also shows available amenities, dates, prices and mileage from military installations. To access the HSO homefinding website, go to http://www.ahrn.com. Applying for Housing
Prior to arriving on island, individuals with family members should contact the Navy Family Housing Office and schedule an appointment. Additionally, an advanced housing application should be faxed or mailed, along with a copy of orders and service record Page 2 (dependent verification), to (808) 474-1822.

Individuals are required to report to the Family Housing Office as soon as possible within 72 hours of arrival in order to be eligible for arrival TLA. You must report to the Navy Family Housing Office even if you have already purchased a home or plan on buying one, found a place to rent and/or plan to live with family of friends.

Unaccompanied Housing Information
E1-E4 are now the only personnel we are "required" to house. This includes shipboard E4 with fewer than four years, and addresses frocked personnel. All other personnel are to reside in the community.

Priority by type of Sailor changed. No effect on Hawaii as we were already housing all personnel in all categories. Utilization is now established at 98 percent of available assets. Former policy was "full utilization."

All spaces are non-smoking.

An assignment review board establishes and monitors waiting lists to move on and off base, and reviews GB and RA packages.

Geographic Bachelors (GBs), which include shipboard personnel, can obtain application for GB quarters on http://www.greatlife hawaii.com.

All incoming single Sailors must check in with the Admin Office at Building 1323 as soon as they arrive, but no later than 72 hours of arrival. Contact the office at (808) 473-1203 for additional information.

Pets in Privatized Navy and Marine Corps Housing
Families moving into privatized housing will be required to sign a lease and, if applicable, a pet addendum. Lease and lease addendums are available for review at the http://fcnavyhawaii.com. A maximum of two pets, dogs or cats, will be permitted in housing. The following breeds of dogs and dogs that have any of the following breed lineage will not be permitted in housing neighborhoods: Pit Bull types and Rottweilers. Pit Bull types include all dogs referred to as American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier.
