Fleet and Family Readiness
The Fleet and Family Readiness (F&FR) Department staff welcomes you to the great Pacific Northwest. F&FR has the unique opportunity to provide recreational, educational and informational programs and services to enhance your quality of life. Our programs operate from four different locations: Naval Station Everett, Navy Support Complex at Smokey Point, Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area and Pacific Beach Resort. AUTO HOBBY
Located behind the Navy Exchange at the Navy Support Complex in Marysville, Wash., our Auto Hobby shop offers five heated, covered bays and two outside bays for Sailors to perform minor vehicle repairs. These include, but are not limited to: brakes, tire rotations and fluid changes. Knowledgeable staff is also available to answer questions and provide technical support. CHILD and YOUTH PROGRAMS
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) is available to assist you in locating care for your children. The CCRR office is the point of entry for all families seeking childcare at Naval Station Everett. Not only do they maintain wait lists for the Child Development Center and Child Development Home program, they are responsible for notifying and placing children in program. The Child Development Center (CDC) is our nationally accredited childcare facility offering high quality care for children age 6 weeks to 6 years of age. For more information, contact the Child Development Center Program Administrator at (425) 304-3778.

The Child Development Home Program (CDH) is an alternative to center-based childcare, providing quality childcare for military families. Both state and Navy certified, providers offer developmentally appropriate childcare programs in their homes. To obtain childcare or to become a certified provider, contact the CDH Director at (425) 304-3690.

The School Age Care Program offers subsidized childcare for Navy dependents 5 to 12 years of age, entering kindergarten through sixth grade. In partnership with the Marysville YMCA, year-round care is available in the Marysville, Arlington and Lakewood School District. Fees are based on Total Household Income (THI). Youth Programs provides cultural, sports and recreational activities for Navy dependents ages 5 to 18. Youth Programs offers monthly special events for kids of all ages, as well as youth volunteer opportunities and classes. For more information, call the Youth Programs Office at (425) 304-3694.

DEPLOYED FORCES SUPPORT
Serving as a liaison between the F&FR office, home ported and visiting ships, our deployed forces support coordinator is ready to meet the leisure needs of fleet sailors. Sailors are invited to utilize all F&FR facilities and activities. Special recreation activities can also be established to meets a ship's specific need. FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAMS (FFSP)
The Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) provides unified, customer-focused, consistent and efficient FFSP programs and services to support sustained mission and Navy readiness. They provide the right services at the right time, to strengthen personal and family competencies to meet the unique challenges of the military lifestyle.

We offer classes and workshops on variety of topics, including employment, parenting, stress management, communication and financial management. • Information and Referral: Information on civilian and military services, resources and activities is available or can be researched for you. This service is provided by telephone or on a walk-in basis.
• Relocation Assistance Program (RAP): The Fleet and Family Support Center provides a variety of relocation services. "Plan My Move" and "Military Installations" are online programs available on the Military HOMEFRONT website http://www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil and can assist with organizing PCSs. Upon request, the FFSO provides Welcome Aboard Packages containing area information to both commands and military members. Hospitality kits—containing pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.—are available for checkout free and are offered to personnel waiting for their household goods to arrive. The FFSP Relocation Program also provides individual relocation assistance, transition assistance, information and referral, information on Navy, Immigration and local community resources and so much more.
• Transition Assistance Program (TAP): Assistance is available for all military members and their families in making a smooth transition from military to civilian life. This is provided through individual consultation, workshops, employment assistance, a resource room and computer assisted programs to aid in the job search. Twice a month, the Departments of Defense, Labor and Veterans Affairs jointly present a transition assistance program seminar.
• Family Employment Readiness Program (FERP): This program assists family members of active duty, retirees and their family members in the job search. Information includes job listings, referrals and reference materials on many topics. Counseling is available for preparing résumés and cover letters, application forms and interviewing techniques. Several companies in the surrounding area have taken the pledge to be Military Family Friendly Employers.
• Ombudsman Program: Appointed by the Commanding Officer, an Ombudsman is a volunteer spouse who serves as a liaison between the families and the command in which they represent. Ombudsman perform the vital role of linking families to Family Readiness Groups, available community resources as well as being the first step in contacting a command during emergency situations. The FFSP provides support to the ombudsman program by offering classes, such as Ombudsman Basic Training, as well as supporting the Ombudsman Assembly. They also maintain a current list of all area ombudsmen and can assist you in contacting your command Ombudsman in addition to other Ombudsmen if the need should arise.
• Family Readiness Groups (FRGs): Another component of the FFSP platform is the Family Readiness Group training and support program. FFSP offer initial training as well as ongoing training to FRGs. They also provide training on a variety of topics at command FRG meetings. The Navy recruits sailors but retains families. FFSP plays a vital role in that retention.
• Personal Financial Management Program (PFM): The PFM program consists of three functions: first, to support the Command Financial Specialists; second, to provide financial education through classes, workshops and General Military Trainings; third, to provide one on one counseling and options to DoD personnel and their dependents. The overall goal is to provide you with the options to make the best possible financial decision for you.
• New Parent Support Home Visitation Program (NPSHVP): The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program (NPSHVP) is a team of professionals providing supportive and caring services to military families with new babies. Navy families and other military families expecting a child or with children up to three years of age are assessed to determine if they need assistance managing the demands of a new baby. In the program, new Moms and Dads can be referred to community new baby programs and are eligible to participate in a voluntary home visitation program, free of charge. The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program was developed to assist military families in ways that friends and family would do if you were back home. This program offers expectant parents and parents of newborn and young children the opportunity to learn new skills as parents and to improve existing parenting skills in the privacy of their own home. Services include home visits, child development and parenting education (stress, shaken baby), lending library and referrals to other military and community services.
• Counseling: Counseling is available for individuals, couples and families on a short-term basis. Assistance is provided for a variety of personal issues including relationships, separations, adjustments, parenting, communication, stress and anger management, family violence, crisis intervention and other concerns. Appropriate referrals will be provided when long-term counseling is indicated.
• Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC): This program assists active duty/ retired military personnel and their family members in coping with the effects of rape/sexual assault. A cadre of community and military volunteer advocates makes up the backbone of the program. They provide 24-hour information, referral and support services.
• Family Victim Advocate: The FFSP provides advocacy services for active duty/retired military personnel and their family members who are victims of domestic abuse. Advocacy services include safety planning, assistance in accessing resources, education about abuse and emotional support. Restricted reporting is available and allows advocacy without the knowledge or involvement of command and/or law enforcement.
• Retired Activities Office (RAO): A Retired Activities Office assists all retired service members and their families by educating them about their benefits and helping to process the documentation required of them upon the death of the retired service member. FOOD, BUSINESS and ENTERTAINMENT (FB&E)
Food, business & entertainment is responsible for eating and dining facilities on base including, All American Restaurant, Pierside Grille, Tremors and our special event catering. They provide high quality food and beverages at reasonable prices Sailors and their families can afford. FB&E works closely with the Supply Department as well as civilian catering companies in town.
• All American Restaurant: A hybrid style galley, the All American Restaurant is open to all ID card holders. Breakfast and lunch are served cafeteria-style, offering both hot and cold dishes, while during the dinner hour, they become a full-service restaurant complete with hostess and servers. Their menu includes a wide selection of sandwiches and burgers, pizza, full entrees, pasta and seafood. Sailors on RIK can select any menu item under $6.95 and eat for free, or choose a more expensive menu item and pay the difference. They also offer take out as well.
• Pierside Grille: Located on Pier Alpha, Pierside Grille offers Sailors convenient and quick dining on the waterfront. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they offer a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers and pizzas.
• Tremors: Located in the Commons, Tremors is an all hands club. Offering seven televisions for viewing, appetizer and drink specials and special event programming, it is a great place to meet with friends and unwind after work.
• Catering: Our catering staff is here to make your next special event memorable. Our Grand Vista Ballroom can accommodate both large and small groups and our food and beverage selections vary from simple to extravagant. Our staff works within your budget to provide the best event possible. From sit-down dinners to buffet-style meals, our staff will cater to your needs. JIM CREEK WILDERNESS RECREATION AREA
Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area offers a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Situated in the foothills of the North Cascades, Jim Creek boasts ancient forests, more than 5,000 acres of rugged land, two lakes and seven miles of hiking trails, all in a pristine setting. Available are one- and two-room cabins, campsites, RV sites, a group lodge, apartment style dens and family-style suite rooms. The lodge, with its 11 rooms, can accommodate 52 guests and has a commercially equipped kitchen and large common area, featuring a natural river rock fireplace. The rooms can be rented independently or can be reserved as a whole. The lodge is great for family reunions, conferences and group retreats. Additional recreational amenities include an indoor game room, Alpine Tower, softball fields, group picnic areas, playground and a sand volleyball court. The 50-foot-high Alpine Tower hosts teambuilding programs and open recreational climbs. Jim Creek is open year round, with full operations available May through September and limited operations the remainder of the year. LEISURE SERVICES AND INFORMATION, TICKETS AND TOURS (ITT)
Get out and see all the Pacific Northwest has to offer! At Leisure Services, we specialize in getting you into the action. We carry discounted tickets for a variety of locations, both in and out of state, as well as information on local area attractions. New in 2009, http://www.military merits.com is Navy Region Northwest's one stop online shop for military community discounts on entertainment, recreation, lodging, services and more. LIBERTY PROGRAMS
Liberty Northwest offers subsidized recreation activities and programs for active duty sailors E1-E6, not married or geographically separated from their families. Look for parties, trips to sporting events, concerts and movies, recreation lessons, tournaments, group events as well as volunteer opportunities. MARINA
Conveniently located at Naval Station Everett with direct access to the Puget Sound, the marina has an 85-ship capacity with year round moorage for boats up to 72' long. The marina offers priority moorage to active duty personnel. Don't miss this opportunity to hop aboard your boat after a full day's work and sail into the beautiful Pacific Northwest. OUTDOOR RECREATION PROGRAMS
The Pacific Northwest is one of the best places for outdoor activities and our outdoor recreation program will get you off base and out exploring. Whatever your interests are—fishing, hiking, biking, skiing or rock climbing, our expert staff is here to help. With the Cascade Mountains right out our back door, there is no reason to stay inside during the winter months; there is spectacular skiing, snowboarding and tubing within a 90-minute drive from Everett. If snow does not interest you, don't worry. With approximately 10,000 miles of saltwater shoreline and 8,000 lakes and rivers, water recreation comes in just about any form. Don't forget about Washington's spectacular mountains—the North Cascades, Olympic Range, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker and Mt. PACIFIC BEACH RESORT AND CONFERENCE CENTER
Come by and enjoy the rolling waves and sandy beaches at Pacific Beach resort. This is Navy Region Northwest's premier recreation spot located on the scenic shores of the Pacific Ocean. The facility is about 150 miles southwest of Seattle on the Washington coast. The resort is located immediately adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, and you can either come for a rustic weekend of camping or stay in the comfort of our traditional accommodations. Accommodations include fully furnished three- and four-bedroom ocean view cottages, hotel with standard rooms, family rooms and deluxe Jacuzzi suites, RV and tent sites. Resort amenities include the Windjammer Bar and Grille, gym, fitness area, hot tub, sauna, bowling lanes and game room. Accommodation rates are very affordable. PERSONAL PROPERTY AND VEHICLE STORAGE
We offer both locked storage units for personal property as well as spaces for long-term vehicle storage or parking. Storage units are available for rent at our storage facility on Spruance Boulevard. Mini Storage: We offer month to month leases on our 96 units. We have two sizes available including: 5' x 5' and 5' x 10'. Our rental office is located in the Commons Building, 1950 Wren Way, and is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call (425) 304-3918.

RV Storage
Vehicle parking is available at our lot at the Navy Support Complex in Marysville, Washington. Our lot can accommodate 169 vehicles and we offer two sizes of spaces: 10' x 20' and 20' x 50'. PIERSIDE PLAZA
Located just a few steps from Pier Alpha, Pierside Plaza offers food, recreation and laundry services. Pierside Grille features hot pizza, submarine sandwiches and a great view. Diners can enjoy watching the wintering California sea lions and harbor seals that rest on the adjacent log boom. Free laundry facilities are available within for shipboard sailors. The facility also hosts a TV lounge and small cyber café with internet ready computers and gaming centers. For more information, call (425) 304-3680

SPORTS, FITNESS AND AQUATICS
Want to shoot a few hoops, lift weights or take a group exercise class? Stop by the Commons and check out our state of the art fitness center. Seismos has a wide variety of equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, stationary bikes, weight machines and free weights. Personal training appointments are also available, free of charge. Why not join a pickup game of basketball in our full court gymnasium, play softball on our lighted outdoor fields or enjoy a fast-paced game of racquetball in one of the glass racquetball courts? We offer year round intramural sports programs including flag football, volleyball, fall and spring golf, softball and basketball leagues.
