88th Air Base Wing
As the host unit at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the 88th Air Base Wing operates the airfield, maintains all infrastructure and provides security, communications, medical, legal, personnel, contracting, finance, transportation, air traffic control, weather forecasting, public affairs, recreation and chaplain services for more than 60 associate units. The Wing is comprised of more than 5,000 officers, enlisted, Air Force civilian and contractor employees responsible for three primary mission areas: operating the installation; deploying expeditionary Airmen in support of the Global War on Terrorism; and defending the base and its people. The Wing reports to the Aeronautical Systems Center, a major development and acquisition product center of Air Force Materiel Command.
As the installation commander, the Air Base Wing commander supports all organizations located on Wright-Patterson and services many other defense organizations in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Its functions correspond to the government of a medium-sized community. Wing people take care of more than 8,000 acres and nearly 1,600 buildings including base housing, tend the grounds and environment, maintain roads and provide utilities, police and fire protection.
The wing orders supplies, furnishes transportation, performs judicial services, manages numerous recreational activities and administers a wealth of people services. Its technicians oversee communication and computer networks, to include vital defense supercomputers. The wing is also home to the 88th Medical Group, which operates the Wright-Patterson Medical Center, the second largest medical center in the Air Force.
In addition to supervising records for the work force, the 88th Air Base Wing operates a runway complex that handles 40,000 takeoffs and landings a year. The wing also operates a contingency aerial port, which deploys military assets throughout the world. The wing hosted the Balkan Proximity Peace Talks in 1995 where the Dayton Accords were negotiated.

The Civil Engineer directs emergency management, engineering planning and fire protection services, as well as environmental management and roads, facilities, dormitory, and housing maintenance support. Base civil engineers support 846 facilities, totaling over 15 million square feet, 6.4 square miles of improved grounds and thousands of miles of utility systems with a plant replacement value in excess of $5.3 billion.
88th Communication Group
The 88th Communications Group oversees computer systems network operations, computer security, telephone, radio, defense messaging, mail and information management support for Wright-Patterson AFB. The Group also ensures base Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act compliance. The Group's more than 500 members, operate the largest telephone plant in the Air Force, with 36,000 active lines, and provide e-mail services to over 20,000 base people.

The 88th Mission Support Group oversees security, contracting, transportation, fuels, maintenance, education and training, military family and personnel support at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Group also directs the largest services division in the continental U.S., with more than 100 facilities ranging from child development and fitness centers to an aero club.
The 88th Comptroller Squadron
No money, no mission!
The 88th Comptroller Squadron is the largest comptroller squadron in the Air Force. The squadron oversees budget planning and execution for base operations and maintenance, defense health program and military family housing expenditures and provides a full range of finance services to Wright-Patterson Air Force base military and civilian employees.
88th Operations Support Squadron
The 88th Operations Support Squadron operates Wright-Patterson's airfield and air traffic control facilities, and flight instrumentation systems maintenance. The squadron also oversees munitions storage, flight records and weather forecasting support for Wright-Patterson.

Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and Victim Advocates are available at major DoD installations to assist survivors of sexual assault. The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base SARC serves as the single point of contact for integrating and coordinating sexual assault survivor care 24 hours, 365 days a year. The SARC Office is also responsible for providing Sexual Assault Prevention training throughout the installation. Help is just a phone call away: If you have been sexually assaulted, please call the Wright-Patterson 24- hours, seven days a week SARC Response Helpline. Additionally, DoD has set up a 24-hour hotline at (800) 342-9647 for geographically separated military personnel as well. Military members who access the DoD hotline will be referred to the nearest Sexual Assault Response Coordinator's office for assistance.
