The major Northwest installations are Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Naval Station Everett, Naval Base Kitsap and Naval Magazine Indian Island. The locally-based fleet that CNRNW supports, the third largest in the Navy, includes three aircraft carriers, 13 surface ships, 13 submarines and 115 aircraft. The supported Fighters and Families include 21,000 active duty members, 16,000 civilian employees, 6,000 drilling reservists, 42,000 family members and 35,000 Navy retirees.
To accomplish their mission, CNRNW personnel provide expertise in areas such as facilities and land management, exercise coordination, housing, environmental, security, family services, port services, air services, bachelor quarters and logistics. CNRNW also works closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and coordinates annual Fleet Week activities for Portland, Oregon’s Rose Fest and Seattle, Washington’s Sea Fair.
CNRNW’s support is essential to provide Naval forces ready and able to execute our Nation's defense requirements.
