375th Air Mobility Unit

Command and Control
The Scott Command Post serves as the nerve center from which the 375th AMW commander monitors and manages the readiness and response of the wing, coordinates the use of personnel and resources, and controls wing operations. The Command Post is co-located and consolidated with 932nd Airlift Wing (Reserve) personnel, operating 24 hours daily. It is an extension of the 618th Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) and is the centralized command and control agency through which the 618th AOC (TACC) manages Air Mobility Command missions transiting Scott AFB. The Scott Command Post is a wing staff agency and is the wing commander's representative responsible for emergency actions, operational reporting and mission monitoring. It is also responsible for reports to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff assessing the wing's mission readiness.

Inspector General
The mission of the 375th AMW Inspector General is to sustain a credible Air Force IG system by ensuring the existence of responsive complaint investigations and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse programs characterized by objectivity, integrity and impartiality. The IG ensures the concerns of all complainants and the best interests of the Air Force are addressed through objective fact-finding to enhance the discipline, readiness and war-fighting capability of the entire wing. Any Air Force military or civilian member may file an IG complaint. The IG also accepts complaints from dependents or relatives of active-duty members, retirees and their dependents. As a complainant, you may contact an IG at any level without notifying your chain of command and without retaliation or fear of reprisal. No one can prohibit your access to the IG. However, experience has demonstrated that commanders and supervisors are in the best position to evaluate and resolve complaints. For this reason, you are encouraged to discuss your problems with your supervisor or commander before seeking assistance from the IG.

Judge Advocate
The 375th AMW Office of the Staff Judge Advocate performs four essential functions in support of mission accomplishment: administration of military justice; operational law; protecting Air Force resources and freedom of action; and mission-related legal assistance.

Military Justice
As stewards of the military justice system, the base legal office assists commanders in maintaining good order and discipline within their units. Military justice attorneys and paralegals accomplish this by providing legal advice to commanders and first sergeants on all disciplinary matters, enabling commanders to make timely, well-reasoned and fair disciplinary decisions. The Military Justice Division is responsible for processing all courts-martial, non-judicial punishment actions under Articles 15, UCMJ and adverse administrative personnel actions.

Operational Law
Scott AFB's air mobility mission and its unique aeromedical evacuation mission demand that air crews and medical personnel are well versed in their rights, protections and responsibilities under international law. The attorneys and paralegals of the operational law division not only provide this training but also brief commanders and personnel on the Law of Armed Conflict and any applicable rules of engagement.

Protecting Air Force Resources and Freedom of Action
In order to ensure that the interests of the Air Force are protected, the legal office provides a full-spectrum of civil law advice to commanders and wing staff agency chiefs to better enable them to accomplish the mission. From providing advice on procurement, environmental law and labor law issues, to defending the Air Force against tort claims and other law suits, the legal office fights hard to enable commanders to focus on mission accomplishment without the distraction of threat of adverse legal and/or fiscal consequences.

Mission-Related Legal Assistance
The legal office provides legal assistance to active duty, retirees, authorized dependents and mobilized Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members. The scope of legal assistance includes almost any personal, civil, legal matter related to mobilization and deployment or that will have an adverse effect on the member's ability to perform military duties. The legal office staff also helps ensure military members are compensated for any damage done to their household goods during government-directed moves by facilitating the claims process through the Air Force Claims Service Center.

Legal Assistance
The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (Bldg. P-3, Suite 210) offers free professional legal advice on a wide range of personal civil legal matters to active duty, retirees, authorized dependents and mobilized Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members. Assistance to Reserve and Guard not on Title 10 status is limited to mobility-connected matters.

Wing Chaplain
The wing chaplain's office functions as part of the wing commander's staff. The office—comprised of chaplains, chaplain assistants and service contractors—provides for the free exercise of religion. The chapel team provides: worship services, religious education, pastoral counseling and work center visitation. Chaplains also participate in numerous ceremonies such as: changes of command, retirements, promotions and commanders calls.

Under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Military Services the Scott Chapel has a vibrant Roman Catholic program centered on the sacraments to include Baptism and Marriage. They offer Sunday and daily Mass that is complimented by a strong religious education program with focus on Confirmation, First Communion and Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for those wishing to explore the Catholic faith. The Protestant Community of the Scott Chapel hosts two worship services: a Traditional service and a Gospel service. Additionally, Mothers of Pre-schoolers and Club Beyond—ministry of Military Community Youth Ministries—provide support to parents and young people to learn and grow in faith.

The chapel team also facilitates the needs of other religious groups through a Jewish chaplain (when one is assigned), laypersons and non-chaplain religious leaders.

Public Affairs
The mission of the 375th AMW Public Affairs office is to provide trusted counsel to leaders; build, maintain and strengthen Airmen morale and readiness; enhance public trust and support; achieve global influence and deterrence; and provide photo, video and graphics multimedia support to the 375th AMW, its tenant units and official organizations. The 375th AMW PA office achieves these goals through three primary channels:

Internal information programs are the primary means used by Air Force leaders to communicate with Airmen and their families, to include retirees, civilians and contract employees. Internal programs include the Command Post newspaper, Scott's public website: www.scott.af.mil; the Scott AFB Facebook page; the Base Guide, maps, biographies, fact sheets and the Commander's Access Channel.

Community relations programs enable the commander to enhance Airmen morale and readiness and build public trust and support. Community relations programs include base tours, orientation flights, open houses and air shows, civic leader tours, the Speakers Bureau program and more.

The media relations program is the link between the base and the Air Force to the local community and informs global audiences about air, space and cyberspace capabilities.

Protocol
As the host installation protocol office, the 375th AMW Protocol Office provides distinguished visitors positive and lasting impressions through expert protocol knowledge, skill and exceptional service, further enhancing Air Mobility Command's "Showcase Wing."

The protocol office is available to assist customers in planning and executing many common military ceremonies including retirements, changes of command, as well as a variety of social events and special functions.

The key to success in organizing and planning for any protocol event is attention to detail. The Protocol staff is dedicated to ensuring each ceremony and event is first-class, and will help to facilitate a productive, comfortable environment to accomplish everyone's objectives no matter the forum.

The office staff is a ready reference for all levels of military functions, from wing to headquarters level, and can provide answers to the most common protocol questions. It all boils down to a combination of standard rules, courtesy and rules of etiquette, and common sense.

Safety
The 375th AMW Safety Office provides program management and oversight for ground, weapons and flight safety disciplines for Scott, its associate partners and multiple geographically separated units. Safety's primary mission is to help prevent mishaps through comprehensive safety education, mishap investigation and reporting, and to help create a safe and healthy working environment for base personnel. The staff takes pride in imparting premier education and training on safety standards, techniques and tools to maximize sound operational risk management practices. In addition, the 375th AMW Safety Office manages vigorous hazard identification and abatement actions to eliminate unnecessary risks in the workplace. This team effort helps Team Scott avoid the loss of valuable mission resources and ensures the highest level of mission readiness.

Historian The 375th AMW Historian office supports the wing commander and the wing by providing historically relevant information to aid in decision making. The historian promotes esprit de corps, professional military education and awareness of Air Force heritage through writing of special studies and conducting research to answer historical inquiries. The historian objectively records wing history and deploys to record contingency operations history in order to preserve an official record of Air Force mission accomplishment. Histories and source documents are maintained at the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Copies of wing histories, along with additional historical documents, are maintained in the wing's historical repository.

Additionally, the historian is the wing's focal point for organizational lineage, honors, heraldry, unit emblems and organizational flags.

Comptroller
The 375th Comptroller Squadron provides financial services and support for the wing, and its 31 tenant units. The squadron has two major flights: Financial Services Office and Financial Analysis Flight (FMA) that contribute to Scott's "Showcase Wing" by performing their own unique fiscal missions. The FSO provides superior customer service and support to more than 12,700 wing, associate partner, retiree and transient personnel for pay and allowances, PCS/TDY travel vouchers, and civilian pay support. They also maintain a Defense Travel System help desk for the entire base. Beginning in March 2008, manual travel voucher processing functions migrated from the base comptroller officer to the Air Force Financial Services Center at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. and Military Pay processing functions are in the process of migration. The FSO still accepts documentation from members; however, process actions are performed at the AFFSC. FMA certifies availability of funds for all funding documents and manages the government purchase card program. FMA also formulates and executes the 375th AMW fiscal year budget to best meet the wing's overall requirements. FMA serves as the audit focal point for the wing and conducts the annual economic impact analysis and other financial analyses to support the wing. The 375th CPTS continually implements new financial systems to better expedite the needs of Scott.

Equal Opportunity
The 375th AMW Equal Opportunity office is responsible for processing discrimination complaints made by active duty members, their family members, retirees and current or former federal civilian employees, as well as applicants for civilian employment. Discrimination complaints are those which allege discrimination based on race, color, gender, sexual harassment, religion and national origin. Additionally, for federal civilians only, there are protected categories of age, mental/physical disability and retaliation for participation in previous EO protected activity. The EO office serves as the primary advisor for equal opportunity matters to commanders at all levels, conducts human relations climate assessments and provides education and briefings as requested.

Plans, Programs and Readiness
375th AMW Plans, Programs and Readiness office provides senior leaders with independent assessments of mission capability as well as recommended improvements to existing processes, policies and programs for fulfilling exercise, peacetime, contingency and wartime missions. The office is made up of two separate divisions; XPI (Exercises and Inspections) and XPO (Operations Plans).

XPI is responsible for the installation gatekeeper program which is responsible for coordinating, deconflicting and scheduling major events on Scott AFB. Additionally, XPI is executes the installation Exercise and Inspection Program.

The XPI staff plans, tracks, executes and conducts realistic, timely and integrated contingency response and combat employment exercises. They provide analysis of all wing exercises, inspections and site surveys. They also manage the wing's self-inspection program by providing a real-time, computer-based tool for internal assessment of units' readiness. The Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) is managed here with monthly status reports being provided to Wing CC and HHQ.

The XPO staff manages and monitors all wing plans, including higher headquarters plans, locally developed and/or directed supplements to higher headquarter plans and plans based on local requirements. They provide guidance to base agencies and host services for international treaty inspection teams by ensuring compliance with treaty protocols and ensuring minimum impact from impending Arms Control Treaties through effective management of the Treaty Compliance Program. Additionally, XPO manages and executes the installation Operations Security Program and the wing Military Deception Program. They also manage and run the Crisis Action Team for the wing commander during exercises and/or contingency/emergency operations, providing that Command and Control link between the wing and all base organizations.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office
The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office serves as the single point of accountability for Department of Defense sexual assault policy and provides access and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through the SARC Helpline: 256-SARC (7272). The Department of Defense does not tolerate sexual assault and has implemented a comprehensive policy that reinforces a culture of prevention, response and accountability to ensure the safety, dignity and well-being of all members of the armed forces. Scott leaders at all levels—military and civilian—are committed to maintaining a workplace environment that rejects sexual assault and attitudes that promote such behaviors. The Scott SAPR office offers guidance and support for victims of sexual assault, unit commanders, first responders and those who wish to prevent or respond to sexual assault crimes. Newcomers to Scott will receive a SAPR briefing that addresses confidentiality, reporting procedures and other elements of DoD's sexual assault policy as well as training information, safety tips and resources.

Information Protection
The Information Protection office provides information, personnel, and industrial security support to the wing and all tenant units.

Information Security
Analyzes and evaluates the classification down- grading, declassification, and destruction programs. Oversees, directs, monitors, and conducts regulatory and non-regulatory security surveys and Information Security Program Reviews to monitor and enforce implementation and oversight of Department of Defense Information, Personnel, and Industrial Security Programs.

Personnel Security
Oversees processes for submitting official requests for personnel security investigations and ensures that requests are properly screened and verified, and that all necessary forms and documentation have been completed before processing for clearances.

Industrial Security
Responsible for interpreting Air Force, DoD, Major Command and other federal regulations and laws for industrial security processes as they apply and are implemented within the wing.

Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century
The 375th AMW's Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century office implements the Air Force's Continuous Process Improvement Program for the wing. It provides a standard approach to continuously improve all processes that employ our Air Force capabilities to deliver the required effects while saving resources and eliminating waste.

To develop an Air Force-tailored model of continuous process improvement to fit all Airmen, AFSO21 uses an eight-step problem-solving model as well as components of Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints and Business Process Reengineering.

The AFSO21 office focuses on developing a mindset and ability to "see and eliminate" non-value-added work through education and practice. The office also develops a culture which promotes the elimination of waste, sharing of best practice and reduction of cycle times across all products and services, and involvement of all Airmen in the relentless pursuit excellence.  read more...
