Just six miles south of the capital, Montgomery Regional Airport covers 2,000 acres and serves 16 counties in Central Alabama. About 400,000 travelers fly in and out of Montgomery Regional Airport annually, with more than
1 million people coming through the airport terminal. The airport is responsible for more than $1.32 billion in economic activity every year.
In 2006, the airport completed a multi-year upgrade which included expanding the terminal building and adding new gates and facilities. Further improvements included escalators and an elevator to the second floor rotunda and boarding area, new jetbridges, flight information displays, a business center, flight lounge, game room and conveniences such as new restrooms, concessions (including Subway and Montgomery Muggs) and free Wi-Fi service throughout the terminal. A new customer service center has also been added to make passengers' traveling experience more enjoyable.
Short- and long-term parking is available at the airport. Ground transportation includes taxi and shuttle services, while car rentals are available from major suppliers including Alamo, Avis, Budget, National, Enterprise, Hertz and Montgomery Car Rental.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic and number of landings and takeoffs since 2005, serving nearly 90 million passengers annually. The airport is the primary hub of AirTran Airways, Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection partner ExpressJet; the Delta hub is the world's largest airline hub. The airport has 199 gates, handling both domestic and international service. Many of the nearly 1 million flights are domestic flights from within the United States, where Atlanta serves as a major hub for travel throughout the Southeastern United States.

Located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, the airport, or "DFW," is the busiest in Texas, providing regional, national and international flights generally to the larger Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. M.A.T.S. provides fixed route and paratransit service within city limits of Montgomery. The fixed route system averages 4,500 trips daily (more than 1 million trips annually) over approximately 4,000 daily route miles. Thirty-four buses serve 16 fixed routes between 5 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Passes may be purchased at the M.A.T.S. main office located on Fairview Avenue and at the Intermodal Transfer Center, 495 Molton St. Fares are as follows:
• Single fixed route ride: $2 (free transfer with purchase of any fare)
• Senior/Disabled: $1 (with valid ID)
• Student: $1 (with valid school ID)
• Paratransit: $4
• Weekly (7-Day) pass fixed route: $18
• Senior/Disabled: $10
• Student: $15
(Weekly seven day passes entitle the holder to unlimited rides for seven days commencing upon first use of the pass.)
• Monthly (31 day) Pass Fixed Route: $45

Military members whose vehicles are titled and registered in their legal jurisdictions of residency may maintain their valid out-of-state registration while they are stationed in Alabama. However, they may also choose to title and register their vehicle in Alabama while they are stationed in the state. You may drive a motor vehicle upon the streets or highways in Alabama without an Alabama driver license if you are a non-resident at least 16 years old who has in their immediate possession a valid driver license issued your home state or country. This includes military personnel from other states and their families stationed in Alabama, even though their assignment in Alabama may be of long duration.
If you would like to obtain an Alabama license, you must provide the following:
• Two forms of identification, at least one of which contains a photograph (one form must be from the "primary" list, in addition to the Social Security card) or three forms of nonphoto identification (one form must be from the "primary" list, in addition to the Social Security card).

• Acceptable school enrollment form or proof of graduation (if younger than 19 and applying for the first time)
• $5 test fee (no checks)
• Applicants 18 or older who wish to complete all testing for a license must have a licensed driver, proof of car insurance and a vehicle that will pass inspection.
