Force Support Squadron
The 341st Force Support Squadron attributes their high level of excellence to the professional men and women who epitomize the FSS mission. Two basic premises are the focus: continuously improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations by being more responsive to ever-changing customer needs, and remaining combat ready to support the AEF mission. The men and women of the FSS are focused, dedicated and committed to the mission of the 341st Missile Wing.
We look forward to seeing you in our activities and will do everything we can to meet your needs. We have also developed a website with the most current and exciting activities going on. You will find the site to be interactive and also informative. As our motto says, "Visit us today, and visit us often."
If you have feedback on our programs, please fill out a comment card in the facilities or online either at http://www.341fss.com or at http://www. ice.disa.mil. Tell us about what we can improve and tell us about the programs you enjoy. We care about the level of service you receive.
Child Development Center
The CDC is staffed with well-trained, dedicated and caring professionals eager to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child. Children ages 6 weeks to 5 years receive the finest quality care. We provide a variety of outstanding developmental and educational programs, and we have fun, too! The Child Development Center offers care for the following age groups:
• Newborns, 6 weeks to 6 months
• Infants, 6 months to 12 months
• Pre-Toddlers, 12 months to 24 months
• Toddlers, 24 months to 36 months
• Preschool, 3 years to 5 years
The CDC offers a Summer Part-Day Preschool Program: one class—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Parents select each week they want their child to participate.
The CDC offers a Part-Day Enrichment Program September through May. The Enrichment Program is called "Discoverers." The program is offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. We also offer a class Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Some of the topics are dinosaurs, music, movement, space science exploration and sports/games. Discoverers' activities will include circle/story time, centers (art, library, table games), gross-motor/gym, music/ drama and snack/lunch. The CDC utilizes the new state of the art center for our Discoverers Program. Call the CDC for space availability or for more information at (406) 731-2417/2737.
Family Child Care
Family Child Care (FCC) is a realistic alternative to the Child Development Center (CDC). Providers, who are equally as trained as CDC caregivers, offer full-time, part-time, drop-in/hourly, before and after school, weekend, night, alert, TDY, and mildly sick care. If you have a child with special needs, please contact the FCC Coordinator for a list of providers who take special needs children. You may visit FCC at Building 4000 or call (406) 731-2116 for more information.
EXTENDED DUTY CHILD CARE
The Extended Duty Child Care Program assists military families working extended hours by increasing the hours of care available in contracted licensed FCC Homes at MAFB. The military member must be required to work extended duty hours in support of mission requirements.
The program provides services when your primary caregiver is unavailable. The primary caregiver may be the CDC, YPC, another FCC provider, a downtown facility or a relative.
WANT TO BE AN FCC PROVIDER?
Enjoy children? Are you a spouse of an active duty member? Want to have a business of your own? Need more of an income while staying at home to take care of your own children? If you answered yes to all of the above questions, consider becoming a Family Child Care provider.
WHAT IS AN FCC PROVIDER?
A FCC Provider cares for children, other than his/her own, in his/her own house for more than 10 hours a week. A FCC Provider may care for a maximum if six children at one time, including the provider's own children (less than 8 years of age, and only two of the six may be under 2 years of age).
WORRIED ABOUT START-UP COSTS?
All training is provided free of charge. The FCC also has a lending program of materials, which helps providers offer quality care at a reasonable cost and reduces the cost for individuals to become providers.
MISSILE CHILD CARE
The Missile Child Care Program assists military members who work in the missile field by providing overnight and weekend care for their children when they are posted to the field. Each family must have a primary caregiver available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The primary caregiver may be the CDC, YP, another FCC provider, a downtown provider, or another family member or relative. Missile Child Care Providers will provide transportation to and from the primary caregiver.
SUBSIDY PROGRAM
The Family Child Care Subsidy Program will assist working parents in finding quality, affordable childcare in FCC homes by sharing the cost of their childcare fees. Parents of children 3 years of age and younger who are enrolled in the FCC homes can pay their weekly fees according to their total family income. The fees are the same as parents would pay if their child were enrolled in the CDC.
CHILD CARE FOR PCS
The Air Force Aid Society provides eligible active-duty members up to 20 hours of free childcare (per child) while preparing to leave or upon arriving at Malmstrom. "Child Care for PCS" offers parents an opportunity to have their children cared for in a licensed FCC home while they are in/out processing, packing/unpacking, etc.
CHILD CARE FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Air Force Aid Society provides eligible parents with the opportunity for free child care in a licensed FCC home while volunteering on base.
RETURN HOME CARE
Active-duty members, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members returning from a 30-day or more deployment are eligible to receive up to 16 hours of free care (per child) upon their return to their home station.
