Hawaii is a recreational paradise. With beautiful year-round climate, warm ocean waters, sandy beaches, mountains, forests, parks and other facilities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Because recreational opportunities in Hawaii are many, it is impossible to list them all here. A wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities are available through your Marine Corps Community Services departments, from renting beach and sports equipment, golf, sailing, racquet sports, volleyball, scuba diving and much, much more. As a head start to your Hawaiian experience, some of the many facilities are listed here that are available for military personnel and their families to enjoy.

Beach Cottages
Kaneohe Bay: Enjoy the serenity and beauty of Kaneohe Bay and the Pacific Ocean from a beach cottage. All units have a full kitchen, two bedrooms, living room, color television, lanai and BBQ grill. Kaneohe Bay Beach Cottages are the perfect getaway for the whole family and out-of-town guests. For reservations, call Temporary Lodging Facilities at (808) 254-2806.

Tiki Island
A tropical-themed fun park, Tiki Island opened at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay in 2006 and offers miniature golf, batting cages, bumper boats, a snack bar and arrangements for special events and birthday parties.

Miniature Golf
Tiki Island has two tropical-themed miniature golf courses set in a lush oasis: the Koa (fearless) Course and the Noa (freedom) Course. Check in at the activities desk for clubs, balls and scorecards. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult (16 and older).

Bumper Boats
Want to go on a bumpy ride? You will love this attraction! Electrical-powered bumper boats with squirt guns will add a splash to your day.
Must be 44 inches tall to drive alone.
Children 43 inches or less must be accompanied by a driver 16 years or older.
Check in at the activities desk for use of the Tiki Island bumper boats.

Snack Bar
Tiki Island offers an assortment of cold beverages, coffee, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, popcorn and other munchies for your enjoyment.

Birthday and Party Packages
Packages available in three-hour blocks:
Mauna Loa Party Package
Tent and table only per three-hour block.
Mauna Kea Party Package
Food and tent package—Includes one choice of hot dog, hamburger, cheeseburger or pizza slice, with soda and popcorn.
No charge for tent.

Diamond Head Party Package
Games, food and tent package—Includes unlimited bumper boat rides and miniature golf during a three-hour block. One choice of hot dog, hamburger, cheeseburger or pizza slice, with soda and popcorn. No charge for tent.

Ko'olau Birthday Bash
Themed party package—Includes Diamond Head Party Package and choice of theme: Fairy Princess, Motorcycle, Dinosaur or the Tiki Island Special. Invitations, table cloth, paper plates, cups, napkins, gift bags and best of all—the birthday cake!

Bowling
Kaneohe Bay Bowling Center is one of the leading bowling facilities in the Marine Corps. It provides a healthy environment for the whole family. The bowling center houses a snack bar, video game room and vending machines. This smoke-free facility has 24 lanes with automatic Brunswick pinsetters and automatic scorers. Ladies', men's, mixed and youth leagues are held year-round. For those pint-sized bowlers, there are special 'bumper' bowling lanes to guarantee a fun bowling experience, as well as bowling birthday parties. Telephone: (808) 254-7693.

Beach Picnics and Camping
Marine Corps Base Hawaii offers some of the most scenic beaches on the island for picnic and camping sites. Three of those beaches, Pyramid Rock, Hale Koa and Fort Hase Beach, are available by reservations for picnics and parties from dawn to dusk. Hale Koa Beach may also be reserved for overnight camping. Dining
Sunset Lanai at Camp H.M. Smith features the island's most panoramic view from Diamond Head to the Waianae Coast. This all-hands facility is a great place to get together with friends. Full-service parties and banquets are the specialty at Sunset Lanai. The Sunset Lanai is also available for potlucks. The banquet facility can accommodate up to 275 guests. Mongolian Barbeque is served Wednesday, 5:30 to 8 p.m. On Fridays, the bar is open 3:30 to 9 p.m. Banquets and potlucks can be reserved for any day of the week. Camp Smith Eatery Snack Bar: This eatery is located in Building 4 at Camp Smith and operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with daily lunch specials. For more information, call (808) 484-9419.

Non-Commissioned Enlisted Club: The hub for live entertainment, dancing and shooting pool, Kahuna's Sports Bar and Grill—open to all E-5 and below—has a great snack menu featuring pizzas, poppers, nachos, chicken wings and more. Telephone: (808) 254-7660.

The Officers' Club at Kaneohe Bay: With the Pacific Ocean and the Klipper Golf Course as the backdrop, dining at The Officers' Club is a treat for lunch or dinner. Ranks E6 and above are invited to enjoy daily lunch buffets or a la carte menu, or dinner buffets such as the Mongolian barbecue night and the popular Sunday champagne brunch. Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Club: Located behind the Klipper Golf Course, the SNCO Club is exclusively available for E6-E9. The Rocker Room holds several flat-screen televisions, pool tables and a koa wood bar. An outside lanai is accessible from the bar. Telephone: (808) 254-7650.

Samuel Adams Sports Grill: A variety of breakfast specials, grilled foods, sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages are available. All ranks welcome. Telephone: (808) 254-5592.

Strikers Grill & Tap: One of the best-kept secrets aboard base is Strikers Grill & Tap, located inside K-Bay Lanes. The snack bar is open daily for lunch and in the evenings and on weekends while the bowling alley is open. A variety of sandwiches, burgers and plate lunches are made fresh to order. Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor Recreation Equipment Center is designed for campers, beach-goers and outdoor enthusiasts. The equipment center offers tents, coolers, stoves, lanterns, surfboards, boogie boards, rods and reels, horseshoes, bicycles, picnic canopies, tables and chairs and other outdoor needs, all available at low daily rates. Fitness Centers
Semper Fit Center, Kaneohe Bay, is committed to promoting wellness and fitness for the entire Marine Corps family. The Semper Fit Center is a full-service fitness center providing the latest in weight machines, free weights, steppers, treadmills, Nordic Tracks and rowers. The facility also houses a basketball court, racquetball courts, volleyball court and a state-of-the-art aerobic studio. Locker rooms and saunas are available free of charge. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday and Holidays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Telephone: (808) 254-7597.

Satellite Fitness Centers: One satellite fitness center is located in Building 1033, and another is at the flight line mini gym at Building 301. Free weights and weight machines are available for use at these locations.

Semper Fit Center and Main Gym at Camp Smith offers a wide range of exercise equipment including free weights, weight machines, cardiovascular equipment and a sauna. The gym is an excellent place to play basketball, volleyball and racquetball. Tennis courts are available by reservation. The Semper Fit Center is open Monday through Friday, 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp Smith also offers lap swimming in the pool, located at Building 125. Golf Courses
The Kaneohe Bay Klipper Golf Course is ranked 3rd best military golf course in the world—an 18-hole championship golf course with separate driving range, chipping green and putting green. Experience this golfer's paradise where the Ko'olau Mountains frame the front nine and the Pacific coastline spans the back nine. The Kaneohe Klipper course offers a variety of additional services including golf lessons, a Junior Golf program, well-stocked Pro Shop, rental equipment and sports grill offering a wide range of refreshments.

Library
Marine Corps Base Hawaii is equipped with two full-service libraries. Features of the libraries include a computerized book catalog, fiction/non-fiction books and paperbacks, a microfiche collection, word processing computers, TVs. A Special Collections section is available with a reference section, a Hawaiian section, a Marine Corps section with MCI materials and the Commandant's Professional Reading Collection. Marina
The Base Marina: A sapphire-blue bay, surrounded by majestic mountains, is home to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Marina. The Marina, located on scenic Kaneohe Bay, offers a variety of activities for watersports enthusiasts. Enjoy a day of sailing and sightseeing in one of our sailboats, powerboats, or for larger parties, our pontoon boats. A variety of boats are available for rental, including sailboats, water-ski boats, fishing boats, kayaks and windsurfers. Classes on boating and sailing are held year-round for every skill level. Hawaiian Water Training: Designed to promote unit cohesiveness and enhance confidence in the water, Hawaiian Water Training is a fun alternative to regular unit workouts. Introductory lessons are offered in in stand-up paddleboard, kayak, windsurfing and outrigger canoe. Hawaiian Water Training is offered by MCCS at no charge to all MCB Hawaii units. Pools/Beaches
MCB Hawaii boasts four pools, located at Kaneohe Bay, Camp Smith and Manana Housing. A variety of water classes are offered throughout the year. For ocean swimming, snorkeling, surfing and body boarding, head for one of four beautiful beaches, Hale Koa, Fort Hase, North Beach and Pyramid Rock. Skating
Hawaii Loa Skate Park: Located adjacent to the tennis courts at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii Loa Skate Park is the ideal location for beginner to intermediate skateboard and roller blade enthusiasts. Skaters are asked to wear the proper safety equipment to fully enjoy this park. Telephone: (808) 254-7666.

Singles Programs
Single Marine and Sailor Program (SM&SP) is a quality-of-life program aimed at providing resources and recreational activities specifically designed for single and unaccompanied Marines and Sailors ranked E5 and below stationed at MCB Hawaii. The Kahuna's Recreation Center houses a lounge area with an 80-inch, surround-sound TV, computers, video games, stereo system, snack machines and a reading area. Camp Smith Recreation Center: Fully loaded with the latest technology and recreational equipment, the Camp Smith Rec Center is just the place for single and unaccompanied personnel E5 and below stationed at Camp Smith. Movie Theaters
Enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbusters at the Base Theater. The Theater offers movies the whole family will enjoy. Popcorn, snacks and beverages are available at the snack bar. Ticket Office
Marine Corps Base ITT Office provides special military rates and discounts on airline tickets, dinner cruises, luaus, sports events, theme park attractions, newly added mainland cruises and other exciting offerings.
