Gymnasium
: The gym complex consists of an enclosed combination basketball/volleyball court, fitness/weight room, racquetball court, cardio vascular/fitness and aerobics room upstairs, and male and female dressing rooms. Signing up on the white board located in the gym can reserve racquetball court.

Outdoor Athletic Facilities: Located adjacent to Club 14 are the lighted softball field, two lighted tennis courts, one basketball court, two horseshoe pits and a sand volleyball court. All outdoor courts with the exception of the softball field are reserved on a first-come-first-use basis. When there are no leagues or tournaments, the softball field can be reserved by calling the Recreation Office at (808) 842-2952.

Information, Tickets and Tours (ITT): Located inside the Recreation Office. This is the MWR Coast Guard Ticket Office and offers a wide variety of local, outer island and mainland tickets and tours. For single, friend or family activities to enjoy events at reduced military rates.

Adventure Parks such as Sea Life Park and Happy Trails Hawaii with horse back riding are available. Cruises such as Paradise Cruises featuring Star of Honolulu and Starlet, sunset dinner cruises, brunch cruises, whale or dolphin watching cruises and fireworks and New Year's Eve cruises or the Ali'i Kai Catamaran dinner sailing are available. For the Hawaiian Luau enthusiasts, Paradise Cove, Germaine's, Hale Koa Hotel and the infamous Polynesian Cultural Canter packages are available. There are several museums to tour including the Bishop Museum, Hawaii Maritime Center and the USS Missouri located next to the Arizona Memorial on Pearl Harbor Navy Base. Waikiki Shows include magic shows, bands, dinner shows and Polynesian odysseys. Movie tickets for both Consolidated and Signature Theaters are sold at reduced military rates in the office. For the water enthusiasts, there are aquariums, submarines, parasailing and neighbor island tours. Even a limited amount of mainland attractions in California and Florida are available.

Athletic Gear Issue: Located inside the Recreation Office at the ITT counter. Provides checkout services for athletic equipment and supplies. Also, MWR equipment such as surfboards, boogie boards, snorkels, fins, tarps, coolers and tables and chairs are available for rent.

Sand Island Swimming Pool: Located bet-ween the Main MWR Office/Gym and Club 14 is not currently open to dependents. Active duty personnel may utilize this pool for physical fitness training. As the pool is not staffed with a lifeguard and for your safety, the Buddy System is strictly enforced—NO swimming alone. The pool entrance is kept locked at all times and keys to the facility must be signed in/out at the Recreation Office.

Club 14: Located adjacent to the Main Gate and across from the swimming pool. Is known for the best lunch specials and coldest beer on Sand Island. The club offers lunch and fast food dinner service Monday through Friday. Facilities include a dining room, bar/lounge, game room, barbecue grill on the outdoor patio and catering operation. Complimentary pupu's are offered during Monday Night Football. A laser disc sing-along karaoke player is available as well as games, ping pong table, amusement machines and pool tables. The large dining room is a great site for large meetings, Coast Guard and military training programs and parties and special functions. Games Night (Bingo) is every Saturday with buffet dinner at 1 p.m. and games starting at 3 p.m.

Wailupe Community Center: Located in the Wailupe Senior Officer Coast Guard housing area. Consists of MWR Community Center, swimming pool, tennis courts and BBQ area. Annual passes for swimming pool and tennis court for residents and other eligible patrons can be purchased at the MWR Office on Sand Island.  read more...
