The Hale Koa Hotel Armed Forces Recreation Center: The Hale Koa sits on 72 acres of lush tropical gardens and expansive green parks directly on famous Waikiki Beach. Pililaau Army Recreation Center: PARC is located 35 miles from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki on the beach at Pokai Bay, on the beautiful Leeward Coast. Active Duty/Retired Army members may reserve your cabin up to a year in advance!
Units range from standard studios to spacious three-bedroom cabins for large families. All cabins are air-conditioned, with ceiling fans, cable TV and a telephone.
Kitchens are equipped with cooking utensils, tableware and dishes. Also provided are linens, a private sundeck and a barbecue grill. Maid service is provided daily.

Mountain Cottages
Kilauea Military Camp: Amidst the fiery activity of Kilauea Volcano, come discover KMC on the Big Island of Hawaii! Bowling
You can beat the heat, but you can't beat the bowling at the Army's three conveniently located air-conditioned bowling centers at Fort Shafter, Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield.
The larger facilities at Fort Shafter (22 lanes) and Schofield Barracks (46 lanes) offer automatic scoring, open and league bowling, snack facilities, pro shops and the latest in glow-in-the-dark cosmic bowling. The eight-lane Wheeler Bowling Center offers open and league bowling and snack facilities.

Whether you're in the mood for a filling entre, soup and salad or just need to grab a quick bite before hitting the golf course, Family and MWR Hawaii, the Exchange and the Inn at Schofield Barracks offer a number of dining options to their patrons.
Family and MWR Hawaii has six dining facilities that are ready to serve you. AAFES operates food courts and fast-food restaurants on several USAG-HI installations.
The Inn at Schofield Barracks: The Inn features a caf, open to all authorized patrons. For larger events, Family and MWR Hawaii has two catering and conference centers for special events, such as hail and farewells, seminars, birthday parties and even weddings.

The Nehelani Complex: Locatead on Schofield Barracks, the Nehelani provides you with everything you need for dining, conferences and unwinding at the end of the day.
Kolekole Bar and Grill, the newest addition to the Nehelani, offers a wide variety of menu items, beverages and entertainment, including darts, a pool table and karaoke.
The Nehelani is also an ideal catering or meeting location with four banquet and meeting rooms. With banquet style seating for 350, make your gathering an event to remember at the Nehelani. The facility is open to all ranks.

Hale Ikena: The picturesque Hale Ikena (meaning "house with a view") dining and meeting facility at Fort Shafter is located next to Walter J. Nagorski Golf Course.
Mulligan's Bar and Grill, located inside Hale Ikena, serves breakfast from Thursday to Sunday, lunch daily, and dinner Monday through Friday. Equipment Rentals
The Outdoor Recreation Center (ODR) is open six days a week, (Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed on Monday), and offers a full range of recreational programs: surfing, stand-up paddling, fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking and cultural excursions. The ODR Checkout Center boasts tents and camping equipment, surfboards, sports equipment, and a wide variety of party supplies, including shave ice machines, large barbecue grills, cotton candy machines, a dunk tank, inflatable bouncers, inflatable water slides, and many more items. Ocean Concepts (808) 853-4673 has rentals, charters, classes and retail sales, located in the ODR center.

All centers offer a full complement of equipment that supports cardiovascular strength and endurance, weight training and circuit training.
There are separate men's and women's showers, lockers, restrooms and saunas. Racquetball courts, basketball courts and volleyball courts are also available. Some fitness centers offer aerobics, yoga, extreme cardio kickboxing and more. The centers also regularly play host to a wide variety of intramural sports leagues and tournaments scheduled throughout the year.
The Health and Fitness Center, Schofield Barracks, offers a variety of classes including cardio kickboxing, group cycling, yoga, Pilates, step and more, all free of charge for active duty and family members. The center has personal trainers available by appointment for a fee. The center provides cardio machines, including 10 with "Cardio Theater," offering 75 channels of entertainment (bring earphones), strength machines and free weights.

Golf Courses
Leilehua Golf Course is the Army's premier golf course on Oahu. Located near Schofield Barracks, it is one of the most challenging championship courses in Hawaii. This par 72 course is 6,916 yards and features a driving range equipped with lights for night use, three huge putting greens, and a practice chipping green.
The course is currently being renovated and only nine holes will be open through Mar. 2012. Renovation installs new cart paths; adds forward tees designed with seniors, juniors, and female players in mind; and completely rebuilds the current tee surfaces. It also rebuilds all greens to USGA specifications, adds much needed drainage to all greens, and completely rebuilds all sand bunkers. Additionally, areas where growth of trees has caused lack of turf will be addressed. Call (808) 655-4653.
The Walter Nagorski Golf Course at Fort Shafter features a par 68, 5,661-yard, nine-hole course played from two sets of tees. Golfers have a practice putting green, practice bunker, and fully stocked pro shop featuring all major brands of equipment and clothing. Call (808) 438-9587.
Both courses offer golf lessons for a variety of ages and skill levels.
Hobby Centers
The Arts and Crafts Center at Schofield Barracks, (808) 655-4202, and Fort Shafter, (808) 438-1315, offers classes in ceramics, picture framing, pottery, stained glass, quilting, youth art, painting and drawing, scrapbooking, woodworking and photography. Custom framing and laser engraving services, kiln firing, sublimation, greenware sales and a craft supply store are also available. Both facilities also have a wide variety of ready-made gifts for farewell presentations or other occasions.
Automotive Skills Centers are located at Fort Shafter, (808) 438-9402, and Schofield Barracks, (808) 655-9368. The two facilities are State of Hawaii-certified safety inspection stations. They offer everything you need to work on your vehicle, including automotive bays, lifts and tools for checkout. The centers also offer emergency towing services and a wide variety of storage solutions for cars, recreational vehicles and other household goods.
Libraries
Army Hawaii Libraries are located at Schofield Barracks, (808) 655-8002; Aliamanu Military Reservation, (808) 833-4851; and Fort Shafter, (808) 438-9521. The libraries' total holdings exceed 110,000 items.
They loan books, audio books, DVDs, music CDs and videogames, and they offer a variety of magazines, reference materials and Internet-accessible work stations for in-library use.
The libraries also provide free Wi-Fi. Adult and children's programs are offered year-round. Examples include the Summer Reading Program, weekly preschool story times, AKO database tutorials, Hawaiian culture workshops and holiday presentations. Museums
The Army provides two museums on Oahu: the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii on Fort DeRussy in Waikiki and the Tropic Lightning Museum on Schofield Barracks in Central Oahu. Admission is free.
The U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii is located in historic Battery Randolph, a century-old coastal defense gun battery that once served as a first line of defense against an enemy attack on Oahu's south shore. Exhibits focus on the battery's history, the military history of Hawaii from the time of Western contact through the Vietnam War, and the Gallery of Heroes, which honors Soldiers from Hawaii who have received the Medal of Honor or the Distinguished Service Cross.
The U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it's closed on Sunday, Monday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Validated parking is provided across the street from the museum. Disabled parking spaces are provided in front of the museum. Group tours can be arranged by calling (808) 438-2825. The Tropic Lightning Museum is located in historic Carter Hall, which first served as the Post Library at Schofield Barracks. Situated in the heart of Schofield Barracks' National Historic District, the museum displays the history of the 25th Infantry Division since its organization in Oct. 1941, highlighting the conflicts in which the division has fought, including World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terrorism. In addition, the museum exhibits the history of Schofield Barracks from its settlement by the Army in 1909 to the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Tropic Lightning Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday, Monday, and all federal holidays. For group tour reservations or research appointments, call (808)655-0438.

The Richardson Swimming Pool on Schofield Barracks is the largest swimming pool in the Department of Defense. It is 103 meters long and requires 1.25 million gallons of water. Richardson Pool also has a huge waterslide for your enjoyment.
All the pools offer summer learn-to-swim programs for both children and adults. The AMR and HMR pools are open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, each year, and Richardson Pool and the pool at Tripler are open year-round.
Recreation Centers
There is something for everyone at the Tropics Recreation Center. The newest concept in the Army, a multipurpose recreation center, the Tropics offers food and entertainment for the whole family. It features finger food and lunch staples to please even the pickiest of palettes, including sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and more. The Tropics also offers video games and a main stage for daily programs, events or presentations. Call (808) 655-5698/5697. The Tropics also offers special events throughout the year. Examples include poker tournaments, Family Fun Fridays, sports and gaming tournaments and numerous Armed Forces Entertainment shows. HDTVs, free video games, pool and ping pong tables, foosball, darts arcade-style games and lots more are also available for use for free. The Tropics is located in Building 589 on Schofield Barracks.

Scuba Classes
Through Outdoor Recreation, (808) 655-0143, open water and advanced open water dive training, rescue dive training, dive-master training and specialty dive training are offered on post. Scuba equipment (including tanks, regulators, buoyancy compensators, weight belts, dive lights, dive flags, exposure suits, masks, fins and snorkels) is available for checkout. Air fills are also available.
Singles Programs
The Army's Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program schedules various monthly activities ranging from going to the beach and visiting neighboring islands and entertainment venues. Some activities are held in the Tropics Recreation Center, which boasts numerous big screen televisions, pool tables and video games. Call (808) 655-1130.
