HOUSINGg
Amy regulation requires Soldiers to report to the Housing Service Office at 7301 Woodfill Road, Room 104, before making any permanent off-post living arrangements. Call (719) 526-2323, 526-2322, 526-5219.
If a Soldier is taking permissive TDY for house hunting, the leave form must be stamped and dated by the Housing Services Office before starting permissive TDY or the Soldier will be charged leave for that period. The HSO also offers:
• A list of available rentals
• Briefings on the local area
• Reviews, clarifies or explains lease contracts
• Mediation in disputes between tenants and landlords
• Off-post rental housing inspections
• Assurance of nondiscriminatory rental practices
• A display of area maps
• Computers, sales booklets and brochures
• Transportation for Soldiers and Family members in search of off-post rentals when a privately owned vehicle is not available. Army Housing Referral Network, a DoD-sponsored site, is designed to improve and speed up the process for service members and their families to secure available off-base community housing rentals. http://www.ahrn.com.
After completing the AHRN registration process, military service members will be able to:

• Review information of all available properties listed within the AHRN database
• Contact available property owners/realtors
• Obtain driving directions to available rental properties
• For Sale By Owner (Military Owners only)
VOLUNTEER REALTOR PROGRAM
The Fort Carson Volunteer Realtor Program assists housing counselors and furnishes rental and sale listings through the Multiple Listing Service System. Services include printed rental and sale listings, information regarding application procedures, interest rates and various types of mortgage loans. For information, visit the Colorado Inn, Building 7301, Room 108, or call (719) 526-7578.
ON-POST HOUSING
Fort Carson is proud to be the first Army installation to have privatized housing available for all ranks. Units range in size from two to four bedrooms -- some are handicap accessible - and feature stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators and hook-ups for washers and dryers. Residents are responsible for gas/electric in excess of an established baseline per the Department of the Army Resident Responsibility Program. Or they could receive a refund each month for conserving.
Water, wastewater and refuse service is provided, and telephone and cable service is available at the residents' expense. Balfour Beatty Communities maintains waiting lists for different groupings (junior enlisted, senior enlisted, junior officer, etc.) when demand in each grouping exceeds the housing supply. The management company also conducts leasing, assignments and terminations of on-post housing in Building 6800 on Prussman Boulevard.
Soldiers from anywhere in the world can access information by visiting the Balfour Beatty Communities website at
http://www.fortcarsonfamilyhousing.com or by calling (719) 579-1606.
