Health Care

Womack Army Medical Center is a state- of-the-art medical facility responsible for providing health care to one of the largest Army posts in the world. The 160-bed facility serves more than 225,000 eligible patients.
WAMC is located on a 163-acre site, north of Albritton Junior High School, bordered by Normandy Drive to the south, Longstreet Road to the north, and Reilly Road to the east and the All-American Freeway Extension to the west.
Structurally, the facility includes a six-story inpatient tower on the east side with a three-story ancillary building in the center of the complex and a two-story clinical wing on the west side. At just over one million square feet, Womack Army Medical Center is the size of Fayetteville's Cross Creek Mall. The aesthetically pleasing complex houses numerous specialty clinics such as Cardiology, Hematology-Oncology, Obstetrics, Inpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services, Pulmonology and Endocrinology. Additionally, the complex includes a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
The staff at Womack is dedicated to providing quality care to its patients through the implementation of progressive programs designed to enhance total wellness. A human touch is added through the pet therapy program and the utilization of Red Cross volunteers.
With two state-of-the-art MRI machines and a robotic pharmacy, the facility is one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the Department of Defense medical system. From the use of interventional radiology techniques to treat uterine fibroids, to laser eye surgery, Womack physicians keep their fingers on the pulse of modern medicine to better serve patients.
Seven primary care clinics are operated under the auspices of WAMC. The use of the primary care physician brings a degree of stability to the often-changing face of Army medicine.
