OPERATIONS
The operations Department is responsible for the critical missions of the airfield operations, air traffic control, emergency crash operations, organizational level maintenance of three SH-60F "Seahawk" helicopters and search and rescue missions.

Air Traffic Control Division (ATC)
ATC provides a full range of air traffic control services to both military and civilian aircraft. They are primarily responsible for the safe conduct of local and special Use Airspace operations and embarked squadrons, carrier air wings and Marine Corps air groups. ATC provides services for more than 13,200 square miles of special-use airspace, which include eight restricted areas and 11 Military Operations Areas (MOAs).

Fleet Liaison
The Fleet Liaison Division is responsible for the operational and administrative scheduling of east and west coast carrier air wings, Marine air groups and independent squadron deployments. Aviation boatswains' mates provide customer service and hot refueling to transient aircraft while maintaining more than 221 maintenance and office spaces for two hangar and four service buildings. The Fleet Liaison Division consists of one office and 35 enlisted Sailors, committed to excellence and quality service to the Fleet.

Search and Rescue
The Longhorn Search and Rescue (SAR) team is responsible for providing emergency rescue service for the Fallon range complex. The crew also works closely with civilian law enforcement agencies and hospitals to assist in local rescue efforts. In 2009, Longhorn aircrews executed 12 search and rescue and medevac missions, saving 17 lives in the process. SAR's area of responsibility covers Northern Nevada, parts of surrounding states that range from Susanville, Calif., south to Bishop, Calif., and from Lemoore, Calif., to Salt Lake City, Utah.

FEDERAL FIRE DEPARTMENT
NAS Fallon's 46-person Federal Fire Department provides fire suppression, crash/rescue, confined space rescue and emergency medical responses for the entire base as well as mutual aid response for the surrounding community. Fed Fire's arsenal includes three crash trucks, three pumper-vehicles and numerous pieces of support equipment.

PUBLIC WORKS
The NAS Fallon Public Works Department is a Weld office of Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest. The Public Works Officer (PWO) is double hated as the Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC). The department is comprised of four Civil Engineer Corps Officers, one Seabee Senior Chief, and over thirty civilian Engineers, Engineer Technicians, Contract Specialists and Office Assistants. The department has three divisions: Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering and Acquisition and Production/Maintenance.

The Facilities Management Division is responsible for the planning of future facility upgrades to the station. It is also responsible for maintaining all property records and base maps. The division is also responsible for community management. This includes representing the stations interests to the city and county on Real Estate and zoning matters as well as preventing encroachment.
