OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTER
Situated in the middle of a recreational paradise, Beale's Outdoor Adventure Center provides information, expertise and equipment for all patrons to take advantage of the diverse opportunities available. California's Gold Country offers leisure opportunities for every individual from hiking, camping, biking or skiing in the Sierras, to whitewater rafting, swimming, sailing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating on the many lakes and rivers or the Pacific Ocean. The goal of the OAC is to make your California experience a memorable one. Weekly trips offer the opportunity to participate in many of these great opportunities, all at a very reasonable rate.
The rental operation at the OAC has just about everything you could possibly need to make your recreation experience enjoyable. When visiting, you will find a huge selection of camping equipment from trailers to backpacking gear and everything in between. Whether you fish or water-ski, the OAC has the boat for you.
For chores around the house, they have equipment to make the job easier. Whether it is a roto-tiller or lawnmower, an aerator or a wood splitter, the rental equipment at the OAC can help. Hitting the slopes? They have downhill skis, cross-country skis, snowboards and other winter equipment available for reasonable rental rates. The OAC also houses one of the first bike repair facilities in the Air Force. Beale's "Bike Barn" specializes in all types of repairs, maintenance and inspections, plus offers a wide variety of specialty resale gear to outfit your bike. They can also custom order almost any bike related gear you'd need and offer cycling clinics.
The ITT (Information, Tickets & Travel) office is also located in the OAC facility and offers a variety of weekly leisure trips to popular California destinations like, San Francisco, the Wine Country, Lake Tahoe, amusement parks and so much more. A plethora of discount tickets to California's most popular venues, hotels, amusement parks and sporting events are available for purchase. The ITT staff is available to set up a custom trip has a trip or plan an activity of your own choosing.
The maintenance technicians can tune-up and repair your privately-owned equipment. Let the OAC do the necessary repairs on your lawnmower, marine engine, bicycle or snow skiing equipment, all at very reasonable prices.

SWIMMING POOLS
Base people can relax and enjoy the California sun at either of two pools. The "Lakehouse Pool" is located adjacent to the housing area behind the VOQ and the Main Pool is located next to the Harris Fitness Center. The Lakehouse pool is open June through August.
The Main Pool provides fitness swimming, swim team options, in addition both pools offer private and base wide parties, swim lessons and open swim and with the new addition of a heated "dome" the Main Pool is open year around. FAMCAMP
Beale's Famcamp has 41 full hook-up sites and a small overflow area to accommodate all types of RV's. The Famcamp is located in a peaceful setting adjacent to Lower Blackwelder Lake and is close to Main Base amenities. The park has a laundry facility, as well as a wonderful recreation room complete with a full kitchen, internet hook-ups, Wi-Fi and TV. Clean restrooms with full showers are also available for guests.
RYDEN PARK
Check out Ryden Park at the foot of Ridge Drive in a wooded area near Dry Creek in the military family housing area. The park offers a barbecue area with picnic tables, pavilion and a playground for families living in housing. Reservations for groups of 10 or more can be made through the Outdoor Adventure Center at (530) 634-2054.
ROD AND GUN CLUB
The Beale Rod and Gun Club is a membership club that offers a variety of entertainment for the sports enthusiast. The clubhouse offers food and drink specials on Wednesdays and Fridays. The pro shop features shooting and reloading supplies. Outdoor facilities include two skeet ranges, a trap range, a small bore pistol range and paintball field. Paintball guns and paintballs are also available at the club.
During the summer, enjoy the outdoor patio and barbecue facilities. The Rod and Gun Club is always available to host your special party! The club, located at 4950 D St., conducts a variety of shooting programs and holds quarterly trap, skeet and pistol leagues. For membership rates and other information, call (530) 788-2473.
COYOTE RUN GOLF COURSE
Coyote Run is an 18-hole championship course that features a driving range and putting green, a pro shop with a full line of professional gear and golf apparel. A few of the many services offered include individual and group lessons, a computerized handicap program, golf club repair and a wide range of tournament competitions for men, women and junior golfers. RECCE POINT CLUB
Recce Point Club, located at 17440 Warren Shingle Road, next to the Coyote Run Golf Course, is home for the officers' and enlisted lounges, a full-service dining room and ballroom, and provides a complete catering service for large and small special functions including weddings, receptions, awards banquets and change of command receptions.
Karaoke and DJs in the Pub are some of the favorite entertainment programs on the calendar of events. Members enjoy discounted prices on all food specials and many other activities. COYOTE PUB AND GRILL
Coyote Pub and Grill, located on the south side of Recce Point Club, overlooks the Coyote Run Golf Course. They offer a great selection of food to include pizzas, sandwiches, salads, wraps and hamburgers. For times, prices or to place an order by phone, call (530) 788-0936.
RAMONEDA GRILL
The Ramoneda Grill is located at 19501 Edison Ave. near the flight line. Access through the center set of gates and turn right, it sets on top of the hill overlooking the flight line. Open for breakfast and lunch with a wide variety of food choices, but our most popular favorite is the Asian Cuisine. The Ramoneda is available for special functions like hail and farewells and small meetings; outside seating available. Call in orders welcome, call (530) 634-9154.
COMMUNITY CENTER
The Community Center officially opened its doors to the Beale community June 13, 1998 after a $2.1 million renovation. Beale's Community Center, offers a game room with pool, ping pong, darts, air hockey, basketball, foosball and shuffleboard. The computer room offers six quality of life computers where you can check your personal email accounts with free printing and four Xbox 360s and over 75 games for your use. We have one conference room with seating for approximately 18 people with projection capability.
The largest area is the ballroom. It offers a theatre-style stage with a large screen and seating for 350 participants. For your recreational needs, the Community Center offers a multitude of board, card and table games. Beyond the facility itself, the Community Center staff hosts programs and classes for all ages.
Some of the current classes include Kinder Music, Guitar, Piano, Japanese and Dance lessons. They eagerly await your call to assist you with planning, coordinating and scheduling your special event. For questions concerning community events, please contact our staff at (530) 634-3165.
AERO CLUB
Join the Aero Club and learn to fly or upgrade your current license. Pilot training includes private pilot through airline transport pilot. If you are already a pilot but your only flying lately has been with a 'mouse,' come fly with us and keep your skills sharp! Take a Discovery Flight or give one as a gift certificate. This is an hour long Flight with an FAA certified Flight instructor that allows you the chance to see what it is like to be at the controls of your own aircraft. The Aero club also sells pilot's supplies and rents aircraft for personal use and TDYs. Safety meetings are held monthly and are open to everyone. It is a great opportunity to mix fly time with social time. We are an approved FAA/FCC testing site for aviation related testing. For more information, call us at (530) 634-9011.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The Skills Development Center, located at 17651 Warren Shingle Blvd., is well equipped and staffed. A variety of classes in fine arts and general crafts are offered throughout the year. The retail sales store carries merchandise to back up the classes and monthly reviews of stock are made to ensure we keep abreast of the latest hobby trends. Special orders for unique craft supplies are welcome.
The engraving shop carries a variety of plaques, clocks, calendars and desk accessories for awards, general gifts and farewells. Please allow sufficient time for your engraving needs. A custom frame shop, also located in the center, is the place to get favorite paintings or posters framed at a minimal cost. Mylar balloons and balloon bouquets are also available at the center. Embroidering is the latest addition to the Skills Development Center. Bring hats, shirts, jackets and more, to embroider the design of your choice. AUTO SKILLS CENTER
The Auto Skills Center is located adjacent to the Skills Development Center. It has major and minor stalls for general work, four auto lifts, front-end alignment, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, an outdoor RV lift and a motor cycle/ATV lift. Services include detailing, painting and on-duty mechanics. Emergency on-base vehicle unlocking service is also available. We also manage the base RV storage area.
The center has a direct computer link with parts stores off base for same-day delivery service. Marine and RV parts can also be ordered. Before you go anywhere else for auto work, call the Auto Skills Center at (530) 634-2296.
BEALE LANES
BOWLING CENTER
Beale Lanes is a 12-lane, fully-automatic house with a full-service pro shop and the Spare Time Grill. All lanes feature pop-up walls for bumper bowling. One of the first Air Force bowling centers to install Cosmic Bowling, Beale Lanes offers a full complement of special services. The "Back Porch" is the perfect place to hold office functions.
A short list of attractions include: Cosmic Bowling every Friday and Saturday, weeknight adult leagues, Saturday youth leagues, family bowling certificates and daily food specials. Call (530) 634-2299 for details or to arrange your special party.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
The base training and education services section sponsors an extensive array of on-base programs. The University of Phoenix offers on base bachelors' programs in business management, business administration/information systems and human services. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offers bachelors' in professional aeronautics and technical management.
Yuba Community College offers a wide variety of on-base lower level (freshman/sophomore) classes that fulfill associate degree programs to include Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) requirements. Yuba's main campus is 12 miles from base, so the opportunity for pursuing vocational and academic goals is extensive. On-base graduate programs are offered in business administration and organizational management through the University of Phoenix and aeronautical science through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
The base training and education services section is responsible for providing information about all Air Force post secondary educational programs and benefits such as commissioning, tuition assistance and testing. A guidance counselor is available to assist personnel interested in exploring available educational benefits.

NAF HRO
The Non-Appropriated Fund Human Resources Office, located at 17855 Warren Shingle Blvd., Room 179, accepts applications for employment for off-duty military and family members. Applications are accepted for a variety of positions, via NAFJobs.org. LIBRARY
The Hub Zemke Memorial Library is located at 16th and B street in the library/education center. The library has the tri-fold purpose of supporting air force mission, education, and quality of life. A library card offers active duty, retired military, DoD civilians, and family members a wide range of products and services at no charge.
Library collections are constantly being upgraded, which include languages, test prep, leased and new books with current publications, best sellers, and travel, Chief of Staff reading section, reference, periodicals, over 1200 audio books including 275 playaways, 175 great courses and portable professor lectures, 1000 music CDs and over 5000 videos.
The military family life section, an inviting children's room, and young adult corner offer many resources to support family quality of life; a children's story time and therapy dog reading program twice a month, and summer reading program are also provided, including an annual Mother Goose dramatic presentation, make-a-book and passport adventure programs for children, and digital movie cameras for checkout serving deployed airmen and their families. Internet and genealogy classes have been offered to adults and young adults, after-school tutoring and college resource programs have been given for students, in addition to regular FTAC tours. Interlibrary loan services provide access to the collections of many other libraries. The library also hosts a paperback exchange book program. Photocopy/fax machine, computers and wireless with free printing and scanners, and many valuable online resources; including eBooks, mango languages, and Rosetta Stone also support the AF mission, education, and quality of life.
YOUTH CENTER
The Youth Center is located at 15160 Gavin Mandery and is an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Club of America. The facility includes a gymnasium, pre-teen room, teen room, technology center, snack-bar and school age program classrooms. Our programs are as follows: School Age Program: Accredited by the National Afterschool Association, the program enables each child to learn and explore in a warm and safe environment. Children must be attending kindergarten through 12 years old and parents must be employed or full-time students. Fees are based on total family income.
Youth Sports: The Youth Center offers year round sports for ages 3 to 4 (Start Smart) and 5 to 18. Sports include basketball, recreational cheer, swim team, track and field, soccer and numerous summer camps and clinics.
Youth Programs: The Youth Program offers various programs for ages 9 to 18. There are five core programs that offer various programs in each Field:
Sports, Fitness and Recreation: Program develops fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
Fine Arts: Program enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing. Health and Life Skills: Program develops youths' capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well being, set personal goals and live successfully as self sufficient adults. Character and Leadership Development: Program empowers youths to support the youth programs and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others and develop a positive self-image.
Education and Career Development: Program enables youths to become proficient in basic educational discipline and apply learning to everyday situations.
FAMILY CHILD CARE
There is a need at Beale for infant care, care for shift workers, evening and weekends, children who need small group settings, special needs care, extended duty care, and for full-time and part-time childcare.
The family child care meets these needs and offers spousal employment. Spouses will go through a training program to become licensed to provide child care in their own home, either on base or off, as an affiliate home provider. The advantages to being FCC providers include: working in your own home, our own children are a part of your child care business and you can set your own hours.
The training you receive can help your own parenting skills and is recognized by Air Force child care professionals if you decide to work in a different type of child care or school age program. You can participate in the FCC USDA food program and can use the FCC lending program for needed supplies and equipment.
For parents needing childcare, the FCC office has a list available 24-hours-a-day at their location at 5114 D Tern Court. Vacancy listings are also available by requesting them by phone at (530) 634-5637/5655. All FCC homes are inspected monthly.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The CDC, located at 5190 Camp Beale Highway, offers full-day care to children 6 weeks to 5 years of age as well as hourly care, and the Give Parents a Break Program (offered the second Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The staff and environment at the CDC are there to assist children and families in their development. The CDC is certified by the Department of Defense. In addition, it is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The staff at the CDC can be contacted at (530) 634-4717.
ATHLETICS
The Harris Fitness Center provides customers a health club environment with an impressive selection of Strive machines (top Selectorized system on the market today), free weights, and cardiovascular equipment (w/personal viewing screens) and Fitlinxx (computerized exercise tracking system).
It also offers personal training, and aerobics classes that include Spin class, BodyPump, Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, and Strength and Toning. The facility has a gymnasium, two racquetball courts, men's and women's saunas and locker rooms, four lighted tennis courts, the O'Malley softball field complex, football/ soccer field, a 440-yard running track, three, five and seven-mile running courses, and an equipment checkout counter. Our robust intramural sports program includes flag football, volleyball, softball, bowling, basketball (under and over 30), indoor soccer, and skeet.
