Marine Corps Community Services

MCLB Albany's Marine Corps Community Services Division consists of six divisions: Semper Fit, Marine and Family Services, Marine Corps Family Team Building, Food and Hospitality, Retail and Services and General Support.

Food and Hospitality
Town and Country Restaurants and Banquet Center
Located in Building 7450, the Town and Country Restaurants and Banquet Center serve all military members, authorized civilians and their families at an affordable price. The facility features a pleasant cuisine and diverse menu appealing to a variety of tastes.

Town and Country Cafeteria offers a variety of meats, vegetables and starches, a salad bar, soup and dessert station and assorted beverages for dine in or carry out. The cafeteria is open Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items are individually priced.

Town and Country Grill and Bar offers a variety of freshly made sandwiches and wraps. The hours are Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call (229) 639-5223.

Catering
Full-service catering operations along with qualified staff are waiting to provide all the catering needs of patrons. A commitment to service and quality, and the ability to provide for any need patrons may have will ensure events are successful. No matter how large or small the event, the dedicated catering staff will do its best to provide quality service, tasty food and attention to detail.

Reservations for a function at the Base Conference Center or one of the other base facilities can be made by visiting the catering office located at the Town and Country Restaurants and Banquet Center or by calling (229) 639-6236.

The Base Conference Center, Building 10200, has a seating capacity of 130, dependent upon furniture arrangement. The Banquet Room has a seating capacity of 150, and the Town and Country Restaurants and Banquet Center has a seating capacity of 125.

Reservations are confirmed only by signing a contract and upon receipt of a deposit. The catering department will, with the exception of a wedding or ceremonial cake, provide all food and beverage items.

Grab n' Go in Building 3500
The Grab n' Go in Building 3500 is open Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. A breakfast menu of tornados, sausage, assorted biscuits, muffins, juice and coffee and a lunch menu of soups, chili, hot dogs, assorted cold sandwiches and soft drinks are among the many items offered.

Officers' Lounge
Major S. P. "Swede" Hansen Officers' Lounge, Building 10200, is located near the Hill Village Officers' Housing Area. Lounge and catering services for private parties are available by reservation through the catering department. Various special events during the year are randomly scheduled. SNCO Lounge
Tun Tavern II is a classic pub, located inside the Town and Country Restaurants and Banquet Center Complex, Building 7450. General Support
General Support consists of finance, non-appropriated fund personnel, marketing, facilities maintenance, information technology, employee training, contracting and the MCCS administrative office. The MCCS Division also offers nonappropriated fund employment opportunities within all the division's branches. Marine and Family Services
Marine and Family Services Programs are directly related to combat readiness. They serve as the main mechanism through which a variety of programs, services and activities will be provided to single and married Marines, sailors and families, as well as retired service members, their family members and authorized Department of Defense civilian employees.

Marine and Family Services provides and supports services for Marines and their families, as well as enhances community readiness. It is located in Building 7200, across from the Branch Medical Clinic. Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (229) 639-5276/5252. Base Education — The Base Education Center is located in Building 7122, next to the barracks. The Base Education Center contains comprehensive information pertaining to the Marine Corps' Lifelong Learning Program, formerly the Voluntary Educational Program, a library of college catalogs and information about area educational institutions and distance learning opportunities.

Additionally, an educational services officer is on hand to help with a service member's request for higher education. The Base Education Center offers a variety of opportunities on base to earn certifications and diplomas, as well as associate, bachelor's and APO master's degrees. Exceptional Family Member Program — Coordinates the mandatory enrollment and advocates for active-duty members to ensure Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System eligible family members with disabilities receive appropriate services to meet their physical, emotional or educational needs.

Family Advocacy Program — Provides services to prevent or intervene into cases of spouse abuse and child abuse, and provides treatment to victims of sexual assault. Family Member Employment — Provides assistance to spouses and authorized family members with job search needs.

General Counseling — Provides short-term counseling and support for Marines, their families and other eligible patrons experiencing difficulty dealing with issues such as grief and loss, marital counseling and more; provides support for families of deployed Marines/sailors.

Information and Referral — Provides assistance in determining informational needs along with linkage and referrals to resources to accommodate those needs.

Library — Provides a variety of materials for adult and child reading, periodicals and computer Internet access. Books on tape and CDs are available for checkout as well as a limited number of movies on DVD. Lifelong Learning — Provides a variety of education-related services and library needs.

New Parent Support Program — Provides a variety of services such as home visits, parenting classes and more, to families with children under the age of six.

Personal Financial Management
Program — Assists active-duty members, retirees, eligible civilian employees and their families in establishing goals for short- and long-term financial readiness.

Prevention and Education — Provides prevention and educational forums to enhance the quality of life by assisting eligible personnel in making sound quality-of-life decisions.

Relocation Assistance — Provides permanent change of station information and services.

Retired Activities — Provides military retirees and their families with information, support and advocacy.

Sexual Assault Response Coordinator — Serves as the point of contact for a military member who has been the victim of a sexual assault. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Uniform victim advocates are available during working hours for assistance. UVAs are attached to each command. All information disclosed to a UVA or the SARC is confidential. Substance Abuse Services — Provides drug and alcohol services, which include screenings, assessments, prevention and education, group therapy and individualized treatment to active-duty service members and retirees.

Transition Assistance — Provides support to prepare separating and retiring service members, their families and displaced Department of Defense civilians for entry/re-entry into the job market. Provides assistance to retirees, reservists and DoD civilians with job search needs.

Victim Advocacy Services — Provides voluntary assistance to victims of domestic violence, rape/sexual assault and child abuse. These services focus on the safety needs of the victim.

Marine Corps Family Team Building Children,
Youth and Teen Programs
Youth and Teen Programs — The Child Development Center operates under the auspices of the Marine Corps Community Services, Marine Corps Family Team Building programs and is certified by the Department of Defense. The center offers nurturing, developmentally-appropriate care to children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age on a full-time, part-time or drop-in basis. Children eligible for care are family members of active-duty military personnel, DoD civilian and contract personnel, activated reserve or National Guard personnel assigned to MCLB Albany and military retirees.

The CDC offers a professional preschool curriculum with a highly qualified staff. The learning programs foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of each child. The CDC is proud to offer a Pre-Kindergarten classroom, for 4-year-old children. Each class has a capacity for 20 children with funding from the Bright Start Program. This free program is open to eligible children, who turned 4 on or before Sept.1 of the current school year. The program provides a challenging curriculum designed to promote school readiness.

The Pre-K Program operates from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. There are extended day programs available for families needing care before or after the Pre-K hours. Each classroom is led by a Georgia state certified teacher and an assistant teacher. All children register through the Marine Corps Family Team Building offices in the CDC. The CDC also offers an accredited school age program before and after school hours daily. The School Age Care Program is a Boys and Girls Club affiliate. Boys and Girls Club curriculum is used to build leadership and character skills. A dynamic summer camp program and care during school breaks are also offered. This program is designed for children, ages 5 to 12 years old. This summer camp program is also a Boys and Girls Club affiliate and incorporates its learning, character, leadership and street-smart programs. The summer camp operates on the CDC hours and children can attend weekly or on a drop-in basis. Their summer calendar includes a busy schedule of field trips to local attractions, bowling, swimming and more.

Each month, the CDC offers a Parents' Night Out on a designated Friday evening with child care for all eligible children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. The hours are 6 to 11 p.m. for monthly Parents' Night Out events. There's also a Mommy and Me Play Group each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Base Chapel Annex. This is a parent and child playgroup for infants through preschoolers. The CDC is located in Building 7600 and operates Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fees for all programs, except Pre-K, are based on family income.

Children, Youth and Teen Programs include a new renovated Youth Teen Center in the Hill Village on Crabb Avenue. The center serves eligible youth and teens, ages 9 to 18. The Teen/Youth Center is also a Boys and Girls Club affiliate and promotes its educational, character and leadership programs. Teens and youth are offered opportunities to participate in BGCA programs to include, but not limited to, smart moves, career launch, keystone club, torch club, triple play and power hour.

The Teen/Youth Center offers a computer lab, open recreational and special activities, including movie nights, dances and various fun-filled field trips. School-year hours of operation are Mondays through Thursdays from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Fridays from 3 to 10 p.m. The center is closed on weekends and federal holidays.

The center also offers special events, field trips and activities at its summer camp with daily hours from noon to 6 p.m. Children, Youth and Teen Programs also regulate and monitor the Family Child Care Program, which consists of military spouses who provide child care in their homes. The providers are certified in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and are required to attend two hours of training per month. Their homes are inspected annually by fire, safety and preventive medicine professionals. The providers participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Program sponsored by the Office of School Readiness. The Marine Corps Family Team building has expanded family readiness to all members of a Marine's family, including spouses, children, youth and teens and other designated family members such as parents. As part of readiness and deployment training, pre-deployment and return and reunion briefs are held monthly. Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills is an orientation for those who are new to the Marine Corps. It has been newly updated to include sessions for Marines, spouses, children and teens. L.I.N.K.S. is led by a facilitator with experienced Marine families sharing practical advice pertinent to the military lifestyle and mentoring to those participating. Learn about Marine Corps traditions, how to survive deployments and frequent moves, the military pay system and a variety of other topics that will make the journey through the Marine Corps much smoother. All spouses are especially encouraged to participate.

Retail and Services
Shopping in the Marine Corps Exchange allows patrons to take advantage of the Exchange; Uniform Shop; Package Store; 7-Day Store; Barber Shop; Information, Tickets and Tours and Subway restaurant all under one roof.

Patronize the clothing, home fashions, housewares, electronics and firearms departments. The Gas Station with its user-friendly islands is conveniently located in front of the store. An ATM is located on the outside wall between the Exchange and Commissary for patrons' convenience. The dry cleaners is located adjacent to the Exchange.

Base Theater
The Base Theater is located in Building 7400 and offers showings every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. Saturday matinees are available on a limited basis and will be publicized in advance. Marine Corps Exchange
Semper Fit
Auto Skills Center
The Auto Skills Center, Building 5591, has state-of-the-art equipment, seven indoor bays and an outside work area. For the most troublesome automotive problem or just routine maintenance, comprehensive repair manuals are available along with assistance from professional staff. The shop's staff also provides customers with computer printouts with results from complete diagnostic checks and features a laser-optical alignment service.

Bosma Skeet Range and
Recreational Pistol Range
The Bosma Skeet Range is located adjacent to the Recreational Pistol Range on Sutherland Road in the Hill Village area. Price is $8 per round (gun and ammunition provided) or $2 per round (shooters furnish their own shotguns and ammunition). A round of skeet is 25 shots. Personal shotguns must be registered with the Marine Corps Police Department. Price for the pistol range is $20 and includes use of our 9mm pistols, 50 rounds of ammo and range fee. The fee is $2 if individuals bring their own guns and ammunition.

The Skeet and Pistol Range is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, directions to ranges and weapons calibers allowed, call (229) 639-5246.

Putt, Chip and Driving Range
The Putt, Chip and Driving Range includes a new putting green, a chipping green with a sand trap and marked yardage at 100, 150 and 200 target greens. A ball dispenser issues 24 balls for $2. Golf clubs may be checked out at Thomason Gymnasium or Daniels Family Fitness Center at no cost.

Daniels Family Fitness Center
Get pumped at the Fitness Center located in Building 7960. Individuals will find certified personal trainers, Selectorized Body Master equipment, stationary and recumbent bicycles, treadmills and stair steppers. Other equipment includes cross trainers, dumbbells and assorted free weights. Shower and locker room facilities are available.

Co-ed sauna and a steam room are also available. Fitness assessments can help tailor individuals' needs. For more information, call (229) 639-6234. Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Information, Tickets and Tours
The Information, Tickets and Tours office, located in the Marine Corps Exchange Mall, offers Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets plus discount tickets to surrounding attractions, such as Sea World Adventure Park in Orlando, Fla., Universal Orlando and Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla.

Staff also offers great savings on popular Georgia parks such as Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta and Zoo Atlanta. ITT offers year-round trips, tickets to local events and provides hotel reservation bookings.

Service members and their families, who are looking for fun things to do, places to go and vacation planning ideas, should stop by and pick up brochures on tourist attractions throughout the Georgia and Florida areas. ITT also hosts a Travel and Recreation Trade Show every year.

Outdoor Adventures
Outdoor Adventures offers recreation equipment for patrons' use. Staff provides campers, camping gear, canopies, grills, smokers and more.

Individuals, who are having a party and need tables and chairs, or having a child's party and need something fun for children to romp around in, may check out the inflatable jumpers available to rent by the day or weekend. Cash, checks and major credit cards are accepted.

Pin City Bowling Center
The Pin City Bowling Center, located inside the Town and Country Complex, offers six lanes with automatic scoring for bowling leagues or open bowling. There are also bumper rails and extreme bowling with lights and sound. There are bowling balls for customer use and shoe rental is available. The full-service pro shop has bowling balls, shoes and bags in stock along with a selection of accessories. Staff will custom fit and drill new bowling balls, and plug and drill old bowling balls and install inserts. The center's staff can also resurface, sand and polish personal bowling balls.

For birthday parties, call (229) 639-5233 and reserve needed lanes. When bowlers finish bowling, they can move next door to the snack bar for refreshments. Hours of operation for Pin City Bowling are Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1p.m.; Tuesdays through Thursdays from 4 to 9:30 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pool

RV Park
The RV Park is located adjacent to base housing. A total of 20 with eight drive through spaces are available for rent. The spaces include water, electricity, WiFi and sewer connections. Single Marine Program
The Single Marine Program offers a wide variety of events for single Marines and sailors aboard MCLB Albany. The newly established recreation center is located upstairs in Building 7450. Thomason Gymnasium/
Athletic Section
Thomason Gymnasium/Athletic Section, located in Building 7360, has a variety of activities available for all. Activities include racquetball, basketball, softball and other intramural sporting events. The racquetball court is located adjacent to the gymnasium. Special events in basketball range from slam dunk contests to three-point shooting competitions, and the winter and summer intramural match-ups are always competitive.

Other intramural activities include volleyball, golf and softball. Youth sports are also available. Thomason Gymnasium staff may be reached at (229) 639-5246. Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gym is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
