Welcome to Aberdeen Proving Ground and the historical state of Maryland! Located in Harford County, the installation lies between the Susquehanna River at the northern point and the Gunpowder River to the south giving the area a picturesque locale.

Aberdeen Proving Ground is home to 66 tenant units and several satellite activities. Major tenant units are the U.S. Research, Development and Engineering (RDECOM), U.S. Army Ordnance Center and Schools, U.S. Army Developmental Test Command, U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency and elements of the Army Research Laboratory.

The location of Aberdeen is ideal for tourism. The area is filled with activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Everything from parks, museums, concerts and a healthy nightlife can be found here. The location also allows visitors and those stationed here to be close to some of America's oldest historical sites.

If you will be arriving via BWI Airport take Interstate 95 West, turn on the MD-295/Baltimore Washington Parkway North exit, exit # 2A towards Interstate 695/Baltimore. Merge onto MD-295 north and take the Interstate 895/Harbor Tunnel Thruway exit. Merge onto Harbor Tunnel Thruwy, Harbor Tunnel Thruway becomes Interstate 95 north with portions of it being a toll road. Take MD-543 exit, exit #80, to Riverside/Churchville, keep to the right. Merge onto MD-543 South and turn right onto MD- 40 and take this to the main gate of Aberdeen Proving Ground. Take MD-715 to the Visitor's Center at the main gate of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
