The Wright-Patterson Medical Center (WPMC)
is a multi-specialty facility accredited by the Joint
Commission. It functions as one of the Air Force
Medical Service's primary deployment platforms
and teaching hospitals. WPMC trains physicians
in graduate medical education programs that are
integrated with the Wright State University Boonshoft
School of Medicine. WPMC also has standalone
training programs for nurses, technicians
and other types of providers.
Beneficiaries are enrolled in accordance with
TRICARE policy. Those enrolled to Primary Care
Managers (PCM) in the Military Treatment Facility
(MTF) are assigned as appropriate to the family
health (formerly primary care), pediatric, internal
medicine or light medicine clinics. Most specialty
clinics will require referrals from a military or
civilian physician before making an appointment.
Access to WPMC services is based on the
Code of Federal Regulations priority system: active
duty, active duty family members enrolled to the
MTF, retirees and family members enrolled to the
MTF, etc. Availability of some services may be curtailed
at times as a result of decreased staffing
levels, especially during deployments. Details
for each clinic follow. Additional information is available on the WPMC Web site at
http://www.wpafb.af.mil/units/wpmc/.
We encourage you to use
www.tricareonline.com to access medical information and book your
appointments for many clinics. You can also make
appointments for most clinics by calling the
TRICARE Appointment Line at (937) 522-APPT
(2778) or (877) 522-3600. When you make an
appointment, the medical center has reserved a
time specifically for you. Please arrive early if the
clinic asks you to do so. If you must cancel, please
do so as early as possible so the appointment may
be given to someone else.
The main complex is located in Building 830, Area
A. Occupational Medicine and Bioenvironmental
Engineering are located in Building 675, plus the
Health and Wellness Center is located inside the
Wright Field Fitness Center, both in Area B.
