The 60th Medical
Group at David Grant (DGMC) U.S. Air Force Medical Center is at the forefront of
military and regional healthcare facilities. With recent upgrades in its computer-assisted patient records
system, digitized radiology and increased bed space for ambulatory surgery, the medical center was
designed to meet the health care needs of you and your family well into the future.
You can’t miss the modern four-level medical center located off Air Base Parkway, one block east of the
main gate. Opened in 1988, DGMC contains 3,500 rooms, 90 acute beds, 75 aeromedical staging flight
beds and the General Sachsel Dental Clinic, with 52 dental treatment rooms.
The hospital is divided into separate patient zones: nursing units, support diagnostic treatment areas and
clinics. Five courtyards provide orientation, natural lighting and pleasant surroundings.
DGMC is fully accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Its
staff has won the Best Customer Service Award for the past three years from the Department of Defense
military health system for being the Air Force medical center with the highest customer satisfaction.
In 1994, the Travis Fisher House opened. The 5,000 square-foot house donated by the late Zachary and
Elizabeth Fisher provides a home-away-from-home for families of patients receiving long term care on an
inpatient basis. To date, over 1,200 family members have been lodged.
