The McChord Public Affairs Office is located in Building 100, Suite 1077. The media relations section
handles all media contact with the base and has sole authority to issue news releases. Any base personnel
contacted by media should contact the Public Affairs office at (253) 982-5637.
The Northwest Airlifter, McChord’s weekly newspaper, is produced each Friday by the internal information
section. Contact the editor at northwestairlifter@mcchord.af.mil if you’d like to contribute or
have suggestions for articles. Internal information also produces this base guide. Furthermore, in case of
emergencies, people may call the Straight Talk Center at (253) 982-TALK (8255) for the latest instructions
and information. Joining public affairs is the multimedia center. The section is responsible for all
official photography on base to include passport/ISOPREP, studio and location photography. Multimedia

The community relations section organizes base tours; acts as liaison between the base and local community
governments and civic organizations; and manages the McChord Speakers Bureau.
The Military Equal Opportunity Office is located in Building 100. They offer assistance to active duty
Air Force, retired Air Force and their families.
The equal opportunity and treatment/human relations education technicians specialize in resolving
interpersonal concerns pertaining to unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment. They also conduct
human relations classes, unit climate assessments, and make referrals for personal, managerial or supervisory
matters. They provide management consultant services on EOT/HRE related matters to supervisors
and commanders at all levels. Specialized classes in team building can also be requested. For more
